He bat flipped on a double, which he did crush, but was never going to be a home run. I don't know though, I mostly found it hilarious.

To be fair to Puig, he did crank one in the 7th, no bat flip, no showboating.

Puig is just a classless ###### both on and off the field. His showboating and gloating is long old.

Walk off homers on home field are fun.

Dodgers to go with Darvish & Wood countered by Hendricks & Arrieta for games 3 & 4.

I thought CC's bubble would burst and Astros would come out with a run or two in the top of the first, as they have done often this year. Not looking likely.

Home teams dominating in the AL this postseason, 11-2 overall.

At least the Astros did not burn out their bullpen. Their bats have gone so cold though. That needs to change fast.

McCullers gets the start? Peacock will be ready to come in at any sign of trouble.

So will the Astros complete the choke?

Yes they will. Gotta think they're probably done with how pathetic their bats have been this series.

It is tied 2- 2, Astros have their two aces and 2 home games left. Yeah that sucked but it's nowhere near over.

Nah, it's over. Astros will need two borderline perfect games from Verlander and Keuchel to have a chance. Not to win, to have a chance. Bullpen is garbage, bats are pathetic. Besides as an Astros fan, surely you're used to their spectacular choking at this point right?

As a Flames (and Astros) fan I have learned to keep my expectations in check.

Sucks they wasted a beautiful start by McCullers. But this series isn't over.

Dominant Dodger pitching has them up 3-0. Offense has been pretty great too.

Astros imploding.

Yankees pitching is just shutting down their hitters, and they even touched up Keuchel today.

The goddamn yankees better not win the WS.

I guess to try and find something to latch onto for Astros fans, look at the Cubs last year. They were starring another choke in the face when it looked like they were going to Game 5 against the Giants, down 5-2 in the 9th inning. Lose that game and they probably melt under the monumental pressure they would have been under in that Game 5. Instead they rally to win, killing the choking label, on route to the World Series. So maybe the Astros can pull this out of the fire in Games 6 and 7. Most of us are hoping they do. But wow are their bats pathetic right now, series might already be over if not for Sanchez dropping the ball at the end of Game 2.

off topic:

what if baseball had no leagues, just 4 divisions.

the proposal of expansion to Montreal and Portland made the news this week.

Also 4 8-team divisions, no leagues, all DH

http://www.baseballamerica.com/colum...3ixcBYE0uE7.97

Quote:
Consider four eight-team divisions with the addition of teams in Portland and Montreal:
East: Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Washington.
North: Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Montreal, both New York franchises and Toronto.
Midwest: Both Chicago franchises, Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Texas.
West: Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
  • A 156-game schedule would include 24 total games against the eight teams in each of the three other divisions—three games against each opponent.
  • The schedule would include 12 games—six home and six road—against each of the seven divisional opponents.
  • The format would provide for an off day every week (such as every Monday or Thursday) and would fit into the same foot print for beginning and ending as the 2018 schedule. The season could start on a weekend, which would offset only one three-game series played the week of the All-Star Game.
  • Fan interest could be maintained by allowing for the four first-place teams in each division to advance to the postseason, and having play-in games against the eight remaining teams with the best records.
  • The winners of the four wild card games would advance to the Division Series, which would feature a wild card team against each division champion.
  • Those four winners would advance to the Championship Series, and the winners of that round would meet in the World Series.

I'd like to see the Expos, but don't like the DH.
