The player I most want is Yanic Perreault's kid Jacob
Speedy RW with a heck of a shot.

Yanic had great hands and lousy skating. If the son has kept the hands and added great skating, yes please.

This is my aggregate list, which isn't my own preference, but is an aggregated view across several sources that I trust but also have different opinions.
I also think there could be some surprises (e.g. Quinn dropping more than represented here). This list also doesn't consider team needs. It's just my aggregate rating.
1. AF
2. Byfield
3. Stutzle
4. Drysdale (I think he will go later)
5. Raymond
6. Perfetti (will drop, perhaps out of top 10)
7. Rossi (will go higher, perhaps top 5)
8. Holtz
9. Askarov
10. Sanderson (I think he will go higher, perhaps even before Drysdale)
11. Lundell
12. Quinn (will go lower)
13. Mercer
14. Zary
15. Holloaway
16. Jarvis
17. Amirov (toot toot)
18. Schneider
19. Lapierre
20. Guhle
21. Bouqrue
22. Gunler
23. Barron
24. Brisson
25. Perreault
26. Peterka
27. Foerster
28. Mysak (will slip to 2nd)
29. Poirier (will slip to 2nd)
30. Reichel
31. Wallinder

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Pronman has the Flames picking Hendrix Lapierre at 19 in his latest mock draft today. By coincidence that's where Jiri has him.

Lapierre is the guy i want.
Obviously high risk with the injuries but also true #1C upside which we obviously need. Would easily go in the top 10 and maybe top 5 if not for the injuries.
We all know how hard it is to get a #1C, i think it's well worth the gamble on going for him here especially given he seems healthy now and the issues were likely not concussion related.

I haven't been following as closely as you guys, but who's the guy we're all hoping to avoid in this range? I feel like there's always one.

For me personally it is Lapierre or (by some chance) Quinn. I love Jarvis but I think he's less likely to drop than Quinn

Oddly almost all of the second generation players in the NHL right now are better skaters than their dads.

There are a lot of forwards in that range that are appealing - I've locked on to Amirov, but there are lots of good choices.

For me, that player would be Braden Schneider. I think that he is a late first round talent, that many people have in the mid round.

I would love that. The only concern with him is injuries, but I think that's a gamble you take when picking at 19.
EDIT: I honestly didn't just plagiarize home_sweet_dome's idea. It just so happens that we're both brilliant and I didn't see his or her post before making mine.

Pronman has taken on the task of mocking the entire draft which is ridiculous, but he has the Flames walking away with:
1. Hendrix Lapierre
50. Yan Kuznetsov
96. Carter Savoie
143. Jacob Truscott
174. Ivan Didkovskiy
205. Nathan Schweitzer

Oops I answered the wrong question. The guy I would avoid is Schneider. Could be a useful second pairing guy but that's the ceiling.

Savoie is a local kid (St. Albert) with huge numbers in the AJHL and a lot of natural offensive gifts.
Question is if that will translate to the next level. Long-term project with large upside if he hits.
Not a bad way to spend a 4th.

That's boom/bust at 19, 96 and 174, and the other picks 50, 143 feature high IQ and work ethic. If Calgary really takes this strategy, I think the fans will be happy. Never heard of Schweitzer.
You have to take chances to succeed, and I like that Pronman wasn't safe. Just smart.

I like Lapierre as well, seems like he has high hockey IQ and elite playmaking. Its a bit concerning that he can't score and is afraid to shoot the puck. This can be fixed with good coaching im sure.

I agree. I'm a big fan of the Lapierre and Savoie picks. Could potentially end up with two dynamic forwards there. Does anybody know where Savoie plans to play next year?
