Nadal absolutely took Krygios to school today to win his 2nd non clay tournament in a row after having gone 3 years without one. Nadal is dialed in if he can win WTF then he will be the only player to win absolutely everything in tennis . The only man standing in his way is the current GOAT Le Fed.

Too bad. Hopefully he can win a few more matches during the indoor events coming up and bring that ranking up a little higher to close out the year.

I believe he was listed to play the swiss indoors next.

I just don't get this guy. It really seemed like he was coming around this year and then he completely reverts to his old ways again. Such a waste of what should be top ten talent.

I would be beyond angry if I had paid to see this match.

Felix wins a tough three-setter against Jan Satral at the ATP Challenger event in Fairfield, CA. 4-6 6-3 6-4 were the set scores. Nice to get that winning feeling back after a mini-slump for Felix.

Felix loses to Nikola Milojevic in straight sets 6-2 6-4. Almost identical as far as ATP rankings are concerned (Milojevic ranked 10 places higher than Felix), but Milojevic is five years older than Felix.

Tricky Troicki is having quite the nice run in Shanghai - After dispatching Shapo, he took out Thiem in a tough 3 setter and this morning defeated John Isner in straight sets.

Ive been really impressed with Nadal of late. He seems to have a new found confidence after winning the US Open. He is closing in on finishing the year #1 right now he needs a combination of about 1500 points he wins or Federer loses. Should be a tight race to the finish. Has anyone heard anything about Djoker how he is doing, is he close to returning or just enjoying semi-retired life? Murray is scheduled to play Paris but I doubt thats going to happen.

Rafa vs. Grigor Dimitrov in the Shanghai quarters should be a doozy.

Semi-finals now set in Shanghai and a couple of tantalizing matches: Cilic vs. Rafa and Delpo vs. Fed

I guess Delpo hurt his wrist in his match today and may not even play tomorrow. Nadal also tied Agassi with his 870th tour win for 6th all time. Vamanos

You could point to any number of reasons why Roger has turned the tables against Rafa this year, the racquet, the backhand, the mental difference. But the easiest answer is sometimes the best, and the easiest answer is he's simply dominated his serve all year against Rafa. He's given Rafa very few chances to break, while applying consistent pressure on the Nadal serve. And that has made the matches, outside Australia, surprisingly routine. Also recognizing how awful clay is and simply avoiding it might have been wise.

Oh and Maria won her first tournament since coming back, and is now ranked higher than Genie. Wonder how Genie feels about that.

It's true Fed has been a beast all year and the best player in 2017. You can't argue facts Nadal has not been able to break Fed except for Australia. It's almost become mental IMO his game has dipped against Fed. Of course Fed has played amazing against Nadal. Fed would be wise to play Clay in 2018 just a few tournaments and he will be back to #1. Even this year he's still got a shot at #1

Rafa didn't look totally healthy with that taped up knee, but unless Fed runs the table from here out, his #1 is most likely safe. It was nearly the same match as Indian Wells and Miami, and 100% mental edge at this point. Fed was good this week, but he wasn't pulling circus shot after circus shot until today. Conversely Rafa could barely keep the ball in play when the points got important. I was expecting him to come out with a totally new game plan, but instead it looked like Fed was the one that benefitted most from the Laver cup teammate scouting.

I did like how Roger said exactly one year ago they were at Rafa's academy wondering if they were ever going to meet in a final again. Who knows what's next, it's equal money that in another year's time they're still top 2 or on the brink of injury-riddled retirement. Just keep enjoying the magic while it lasts.

Vasek fails to qualify for the European Open losing to Stefano Travaglia of Italy who is ranked #131 in the world. Denis is in the main draw however and faces American Ernesto Escobedo in the 1st round.
