Default Legit ticketmaster email or phish?

So. I sold a pair of tickets through Ticketmaster. A couple of days later, I got an email from “notification@email.ticketmaster.com” that asks for more information to release payment. I would say that it’s a phishing email, but the timing has me thinking that it’s legit? Anyone else got this?

Is it the 1099k form? I was ignoring them at first because they seemed fishy but ticketmaster has it on their legit website: https://help.ticketmaster.ca/s/artic...language=en_US

It’s a US tax reporting thing; I believe you should be exempt if you’re in Canada but I think you still need to fill it out (I’m still waiting for payment; it’s been about two weeks).

Yeah. It is the 1099-k thing. I logged into the ticketmaster.ca site and did a search for 1099-k in their help section. It is apparently legit. What was throwing me off was that I asked for a seller credit to apply against next year’s tickets. So really no “payment” forthcoming. Much more comfortable accessing the link via their website as opposed to some random email. Truly basic information that they asked for. For others curious or in this situation. Name, address, phone #, and basically affirming non-US status.

Can’t be too careful with phishing emails and potential viruses and stuff…

Yeah I got that too and ignored it for a long time because it was for the Seattle tix that were originally Dec 23 but then I got a reminder after the rescheduled game saying I wouldn't get paid if I didn't complete the form (I just ask for a credit, too).

I though it was bogus because I'd sold other tickets on ticketmaster and never got an email like that but then I realized the email notification of the sale came from ticketexchangesupport@email-ticketexchange.com whereas every other one came from orderinfo@ticketmaster.com - so now I'm thinking they sold on the American ticketmaster website and that was why it was required.
