Flames PGT Mar 26: Flames 0 @ Blue Jackets 5 - Blanked Out

Well that could've gone better.

Flames get shutout back-to-back losing 5-0 to the blue Jackets. Giving the Canucks the ability to snatch the division title which seemed safe a while back.

On a side note, looks like Columbus will finally have playoff hockey. Good for them.

So disappointing what is happening to this team. I actually thought that this year would be different. Sutter waved his magic wand and made all the right moves in the offseason, the team played themselves to near elite status by midseason. Now it feels like someone pressed the stop button and put in a tape of the last 20 games of last year or the year before. The coaches are frustrated, the players are doing lots of talk and little action. We've seen this before and know how it ends.

There is still time to turn things around. Unfortunately that's what I tried to tell myself last year and the year before to no avail.

Good for Columbus.

Great value for the fans who paid 10 beans for that game.

Cue the suicide notes.

The real question is do they Flames get booed when they take the ice on Saturday?

If they don't score early often the Dome is going to be an ugly scene.

This game/road trip is probably rock bottom for the Flames so far this year. Terrible special teams didn't help. Both are going south.

Pluses:

- Vandermeer definitely laid down the beats in his fight
- They didn't give up a short-handed goal

Minuses:

- Everything else

Well...that will shut up anybody that thought a first round matchup with the BJ's would be a cakewalk.

MIND BLASTING!

Hard to be confident in the team we have when we get blown out too often in a single season.

One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

Well, I asked in the pregame thread if this team had any heart. Apparently I have my answer.

I think the locker would be an ugly scene right now.

Iggy's worst game of the year. Zero fight, especially on the pp. Go Blues! Oh and fire Keenan.

Who would have thought that Lombardi was the glue that held this team together?

Dunno about firing the coach... but it sure ain't a positive thing to be limping toward the playoffs like we are. I suppose we can all hope for a return of that team we saw two months ago, but the flashes have been few and far between lately.

If we go out in the first round the coaches are all done anyway I guess.

Gawd this is a poor time to take an epic nosedive. How far is Edmonton back?
