Default Sabres At Flames 7:00MT SNW and Fan960

It's been almost a full week since our heroes knocked off Ottawa, and the fun was just beginning. Tonight Coach Ward and his Mystical Magical Blender will take centre stage as the Warriors in the Flaming C attempt to go for a third win in a row.

GO FLAMS GO!!!

Big fan of this team but I have a man crush on Eichel. Man hes something.
Contain him and we can win.

Let's start putting up some points , building confidence in preparation for what's to come....playoffs ....we got this.

Sabres have looked better after a rough stretch and are coming off of their biggest win of the season. Eichel is elevating his game to the next level this season. Hoping for a win!

Glad to have a game to watch. This break with all of the off ice issues has been bloody well excruciating

Hopefully with the time to practice they come out cohesive and aggressive

Feels like the team hasn't played forever. But that's probably good thing. Gave the team a chance to step away from the media spotlight over what's happening with Coach-gate around the league and just focus on practicing. Wills this morning said that Ward has been working the players pretty good over that timespan.

Looking forward to seeing how the team looks with potentially new lines. Still scared AF by Jack Eichel though. That kid is gonna be near the top of the league very soon, if he isn't already. Looking forward to seeing him play , but hoping the team can keep him in check.

Looks like Ward is sticking with his practice lines:

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
David Rittich starting in net tonight vs. Buffalo. Hamonic officially back in the lineup.

Coach Ward says he’ll go with the practice lines from the last couple days. #Flames

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames projected lines and pairings vs. #Sabres50:

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Monahan-Backlund-Dube
Lucic-Ryan-Gaudreau
Rieder-Jankowski-Frolik

Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Hamonic
Kylington-Andersson

Rittich (Starter)
Talbot

Love it.

This is when the season starts. New coach somehow lining up with a long stretch with no games.

Can we win 3 games in a row for the first time this season? This would be a perfect time to go on a roll.

I like this lineup. Lucic gets his first goal tonight.

I also expect to see a lot of energy from the powerplay, when members of all three lines are put together.

Also, when Bennett and Czarnik are back to fill in the bottom six, I don't think we will have to worry when any line is on the ice. That hasn't happened in a while.

Really curious to see these lines in action tonight even though I have a hard time seeing it working. I do like line #1 which should be line #2 if Gaudreau and Monahan were playing at a level we're used to, and if we could either acquire or have someone promoted to RW with them other than Lindholm.

Line #2 is just weird to me, Monahan as LW, very curious to see that. Personally don't think he has the speed to do it. I'd rather Backlund LW as he's played there at World Championships and Olympics if I recall correctly. I love Dube and his potential just liked him with Lucic as he was getting crushed last year.

Line #3, is fine as this line worked with Dube, just swapping in Gaudreau. Hopefully this wakes him up to get back in the top 6.

Line #4, never liked this line, if line #4 isn't going to contribute via points I'd rather crash and bang types wearing the other team down, which is why I loved Hathaway as a 4th liner.

Nice to see change to get an idea of other chemistry options so looking forward to tonight's game, plus it's been a long break!

One thing that seems apparent here is that Jankowski had better get his act together. Once Bennett is activated, Monahan probably slides back to center and Janko slides right into the press box.
