Flames vs Sharks, 7:30 PM MST. Sportsnet West/Sportsnet One, Fan 960
Back to the ice. After an unfortunate loss in Winnipeg, the Flames meet the Pacific-leading Sharks on home ice.
We're halfway through the season and things are getting tougher. The time of year when a team needs their warriors. Luckily, the Flames have themselves a TROOPER:
Go Flames

Good chance Sharks start their backup, Aaron Dell after playing last night - which will tick off my wife who bought tickets to this game specifically to see Martin Jones play (she is a big Calgary Hitmen fan going way back).
My hope = Dell starts, gets lit up with 5 goals by early in the 2nd period, gets pulled. Flames win 5-2, then my wife gets to see Jones play, but not get lit up like last Flames vs Sharks game we went to.

Ok this hasn't been working so time to switch it up a bit.
I will donate $20 to CP if Bennett DOESN'T score a goal tonight.

Flames need this one. I feel 4pts were lost against the Canucks Friday and Jets Monday. Sharks played last night they need to jump on them early tonight

Big test for the team.
Huge 2 points tonight up for grabs and close the gap on Edmonton. Also give them some good momentum going into a back to back on the weekend.
Going to say its a nail biter 2-1 Flames Win.

This should work. Clearly the hockey gods hate charities.

Can the Flames handle Dell in goal and ship the Sharks out of town with no points?

Pretty sure Dell is from Airdrie.
This team is old, on a back to back, and most likely starting their hometown backup.
These are good things.

Alright, no more excuses going forward. We need our top players to start producing from here on out. I'm looking at Monahan, Gaudreau and Giordano to pick it up in the next few months.

The Coyotes and the Avalanche seem to be the only sad sack teams the Flames have been able to take advantage of this season as they have losses to struggling or bad teams in the Hurricanes, Lightning, Canucks (2), Oilers (2), Jets, Dallas, Islanders, etc. If you are going to lose games to those teams and still make the playoffs that means you will have to start beating teams above you in the standings sooner or later. No better time to start than now.

The Flames have already split their first two games against SJ. I think they will probably be fine.
