After a loss today against the Lightning, Columbus was feeling a little disappointed. So we have acquired Dion Phaneuf +cap from the Lightning for some youth and a couple of picks.
going the other way is 2018 1st(BUF) a 3rd(MIN) and young guy Jonathan MacLeod. we didn't like giving up MacLeod but it was a necessary move for next season as we were looking extremely weak in the back end.
We are hoping for a couple more moves that will help us next season

We are 3 points out of a playoff spot and have a lot of guys up for new contracts this summer. Love Backlund but need the 8 mill for other players. Shopped him around a bit and this seemed to be around his market value. Sharks are happy but the way the sim is the Ducks may just go on a streak now!

I'm very jealous. This is how much (my kids and) I love Backlund.
I wanted him on my roster, but knew it would be super tough to fit in that salary and that it wouldn't happen without moving Backstrom. That was possible with Matthews coming in next year, but not happening this season.
Love the move though.
