Not really that surprising and it will elevate Johnny's UFA status even more. He's got a lot of money coming his way and I'm not sure the Flames will be able to do it as optimistic as I am about him re-signing here.

I'm not saying Iggy is quite on Ovechkin's level, but Iggy only played in 6 despite being his team's best (or at least 1A/1B) player almost every single season for 15+ years

some of the time, absolutely true, but I seemed to recall other years where things weren't so clear. some of it came down to different rules in different years- at least once he was clearly the Flames best player but that was a year that the format was changed so teams didn't have to be represented. other years because each team did need to be represented he wasnt chosen because Kipper or someone else was

at any rate 6 is just a really low number for a guy with his CV. Johnny just tied him!

I don't blame him. I find All-Star games to be unwatchable. I can't recall the last time that I actually watched one.
