The Montreal Alouettes have released American quarterback Trevor Harris and Canadian offensive lineman David Foucault, the team announced on Monday.
Harris had a $300,000 off-season roster bonus due on Feb. 1, 2022, which made it impossible for Montreal to keep him after they re-signed Vernon Adams Jr. through 2023 last week.

That’s a shame.
Assuming Evans stays in Hamilton, and with Masoli to Ottawa looking more likely, is Harris the odd man out? I’m guessing a return to Edmonton won’t happen…

I wouldn't rule out Toronto. I could see him and Bethel Thompson in a 1A/B situation as you can just rotate them after bad games seeing neither is anything more than mediocre at this stage.

Toronto makes sense, assuming Harris is willing to sign for "backup" money (or at least 1B). I remember hearing during the season that they were also pretty high on Pipkin, which is partially why they let Arbuckle go.

Elks’ fan here - 55 years, 35-year season-ticket holder. I hated this hire but the more I think about it the less I hate it and I’m seeing the logic. I’ve met Jones and don’t like the guy but the players like him and he wins. With all of the free agents around the league Jones will lure some good names; he’s done that wherever he goes. I’ve moved from hate to okay, let’s do this.

As soon as something he thinks is better comes along, Jones will be gone, contract be damned

Maybe that's why they gave him the dual role of HC and GM. He's not only cooking the dinner, he's getting the groceries.

We’ll see, but Jones has worked for so many teams (six, I think) that he’s running out of CFL options. He has his dream job with full control in rebuilding a team and as soon as those contracts of fired execs run out he’ll have money to spare. I think he’ll be there several years.

He will get them back to respectability on the field. They will be in the mix every year but of course there will be controversy and questionable personnel moves at times. He may even stick around long enough to get fired as I don't know if he's got a lot of options left outside of the XFL.

How long is Jason Maas under contract with the Riders? Maas returning to Edmonton would be the cherry on top.
Edit: I just checked, his contract is up now lol
