That's interesting. A lot of players I have never heard of, including all the goalies. Not that me not hearing of them means much, lol.

I am a little surprised that they didn't go after a veteran like Bobby Ryan, who is sitting on the sidelines and apparently still wanting to play.

Well...at least we traded Iggy for another Olympian.

I didn't notice/realize that Staal retired, but it's awesome that he's coming back for this:

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...sional-tryout/

I thought he might running for a 3rd gold, but I guess he was only on 2010 but not 2014.

I wonder if Marleau ramps up for this and then tries for one last playoff push? He's the most likely to manage a 3rd gold.

COM'N BACK IGGY!!!! I think Luongo might be the next most recent retiree (after Staal), but I imagine it would be much harder to ramp back up into goalie shape.

Brodeur could've had 3 golds if not for Mike Smith (though it would've been hollow since he almost certainly wouldn't have played, either).

I wonder if we see Rask play in China before coming back? Or if guys like Bobby Ryan or Kovalchuk use this to try for another run in the NHL. But the biggest question of all...do we get to see Jagr one more time?

Maybe Kane could regain some positive publicity, and go to Beijing.

Lol?

Should be interesting

Staal is interested in joining Canada. Jagr is still playing in Kladno and Datsyuk played in the 20-21 season, also Kovalchuk under Hartley

Get Iggy back out there, he’s clutch in the Olympics!

Could Canada seriously field a recently retired team and be competitive? Not old guys but guys who just retired.

Like Justin Williams and Bradon Coburn. McBackup in net!

Bouwmeesters heart can take a two week tournament?
