The one thing I'm really happy about the Bucs being a national TV team again is that people get to see some of the great players. Like Vita Vea. It must be utterly terrifying to see that man rumble down on you. And he wears no gloves to boot which you know means he's not ####ing around. He is a destroyer of men.

Now that most teams don't play their starters in preseason, week one is preseason quality football as that was an entertaining but very sloppy opener. You can't draw a lot of conclusions after week one but typically the defenses come out faster than offenses but that was not the case last night as both defenses were awful. Equally as awful as the defenses was Collinsworth. I don't normally comment on the announcers but if I didn't know any better I would think he's either on Jerry Jones payroll or has the biggest man crush ever on Prescott. I can't be the only person that rolled their eyes when he said Prescott was looking amazing after his first two completions. He had a good game but the Bucs secondary couldn't cover anyone and the media is treating things like he's the first player to ever come back from a season ending injury the year before. Gross.

I can guarantee that was the Raiders offense or any other non-darling franchise there would have been multiple flags out for that blatant OPI as you could see it from multiple angles.

QB has to be under pressure.

Three criteria.

Receiver in the area
QB under pressure
QB between the tackles. If he's outside tackles ball has to go passed the line of scrimmage or it could be grounding .

I'm beginning to wonder if the only thing that slows him down is an injury and the recovery. I keep waiting for him to have his Peyton Manning or Drew Brees moment but it never comes. He seems to still have a lot of zip on his passes and since scrambling was never a part of his game it really doesn't matter if he's lost a step. I suppose it's possible that his arm wears out over the season but it really is incredible that he can still play at such a high level in his mid-40's.

I don't think he ever had 'a step' to lose.

Exhibit A: Brady Jogging during the 40

That was a hell of an opening game.

Brady just being Brady. Kudos to Prescott too, he looked like he never missed significant time with the way he played.

I agree 100%, but the thing is Brady really doesnt take hits, like i cant remember the last time ive seen him just get rocked, his line is solid and he moves the ball so fast, and when there is a chance to get sacked hes willing to go down and not play hero. His pocket awareness is the greatest of all time in my opinion, its a very underrated part of his game

Yeah. As a Saints fan, looking at all-time records the previous few years, obviously I wanted Brees to have the passing/TD records at the end. Brees is 3 years younger than Brady so I just assumed Tom would retire first, and Drew would have a couple final years by himself to solidify those records. But somehow Brady outlasted him, it's nuts how he just keeps going.

EDIT: since everyone's doing predictions, I'll just do my own team. Wanna say 9-8, but I'll optimistically lean to 10-7. Especially with all the injuries and suspensions to key players, and having to start the season without a home stadium until October, on top of a new QB, I think they'll start slow. But I could see them gelling second half of the year, especially as big names start coming back. I think they'll challenge for a playoff spot, that D is for real.

Tyrod leading the Texans to a quick 14-0 lead over the Jags. Welcome to the league, Urban.

The Houston Texans sought a package of six players and NFL draft picks from teams interested in trading for star quarterback Deshaun Watson this summer, league sources told ESPN.

Whether the package consisted of one player and five draft picks or two players and four picks, the Texans were unwilling to budge from their trade price for Watson, who remains on their roster even though he will not be active for Sunday's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Texans do not plan to play Watson at all this season, but sources around the league believe that Houston general manager Nick Caserio will not trade the three-time Pro Bowler for anything less than the six combined players and picks.
Good luck with that.

So the Seahawks are exactly as described... Carson Wentz 9/10 against that secondary.

So glad to see Joe Burrow looking good today, felt so bad for him on that horrific injury last year. Nice seeing him hook up with Chase on that long TD catch earlier
