That Deville location seems to be way busier than the SB ever was.

Same with the Aggudo coffee that took over the SC spot.

I'm liking the changes and direction of the Plaza.

Oh that sucks. I was planning to head down there after work to pick up some whisky for a virtual tasting tomorrow.

I just saw pictures on their Instagram. Brutal

Went to the Continental (above Winebar) and had the chefs tasting menu and it was fantastic, would definitely recommend.

Have also checked out Wing'n It a few times. It can be a bit overwhelming picking your wing flavours (I think they have like 100 flavours), but I have liked it a lot.

Somewhat related, but took a peek at Container Bar now that it is owned by the Continental. Expensive menu and they upgraded the seating to typical backyard furniture stuff.

I think the charm of Container Bar was the simple seating that could foster conversation with neighbours and relatively cheap eats and drinks.

Have you seen the plan? It's not amazing, but not royally screwed up either. Should be a nice improvement.

It's been quite a while since I looked at it, which goes along with Calgary projects and the lengthy gap between design release and construction start.

Is this the latest? Looks pretty plain, but hopefully they keep the portable tables and chairs. Doesn't need to be much else, so it'll be fine. I do miss the green benches, that was a good shady spot to sit and people watch.

Am I crazy in thinking that the city should have incorporated the east end of Kensington Crescent into this plaza plan and made that entire area and place to walk around and hang out? Basically get rid of Kensington Crescent east of the parkade entrance and change the west end to two way traffic so that the parkade is still accessible.

100%, if there is any road that should fully pedestrianized that is it. Heck the patios for the restaurants along it have been allowed to get even larger over the last couple of years, why can't we just go all the way and fully close it?

You can still pedestrianize it with either gates like Stephen Ave or go real high tech like most of the world and put in those retractable bollards.
