Would have liked a warm body (Wilson) but happy with a 2nd and a 3rd.

I would have rather re-sign him.

No.
They are dealing for him for what his body of work has been for the last few years as that is much more indicative of what he can contribute moving forward. Just because he struggled for a couple months this season does not equate to him doing so for the rest of the season.
GM's look far deeper into players than what has he done since December.
Which is why Glencross got the return he did.

Washington overpaid, especially if the 3rd is the Buffalo pick.

Taking into account how strong the 2015 draft class is, that is a pretty good return.

What if he wants $5-6M? If the Flames weren't even considering what numbers Glencross' camp were asking for, it must be way too high.

Hopefully just the first of a couple of moves.
Not at all advocating a "win now at any cost" approach, but the way this team has battled, they deserve more than just selling current assets for futures.

It's about right, actually. Your valuation of Glencross was extremely low

So basically we're agreeing, they're trading for the player he is now, not what he was 5-6 seasons ago. This season isn't "since December" btw, it's since October.
He's been a floater on this season for over 2 seasons now. Lazy, ineffective.
The higher return can easily be chalked up to the zaniness that is the trade deadline.

Kudos to Treliving, that's a great return. Here'a hoping that the 3rd is Buffalos, but even if it's not, that's still a fine trade from Calgarys perspective.
