He's too tiny for the NHL but I guess you could get lucky and get another Cam Atkinson... but I really doubt it.

I got blocked on his twitter for bringing it up last year and not one of the 960 guys say a thing about it.

62 points, 6th in NHL, two off of 4th. 7 game point streak. Equaled his 24 goals from last year already. Bazinga.

What was the graphic tonight? 1.47 points per game at home or something close to that?

If he figures out how to beat the match ups and score at a better clip on the road, he's going to win some Art Ross trophies.

Or should I say when?

If we get an elite RWer this draft it may be impossible to shut the line down on the road even with the opposing coach getting his dream match ups. Well maybe not immediately but down the line when the RW is making an impact.

What I like best is Johnny is a) he is still modest about his achievements - says he doesn't consider himself a league superstar yet, and b) he is going to keep getting better - again he admits he is improving each year and hasn't found his ceiling yet.

The Flames need to get him signed for 8 years, preferably before July 1st.

Johnny has less power play points than anyone else among the top 16 scorers. If we can get our power play to click in the next few years, id say he's got a shot at the Art Ross.

JG really put it all together his 3rd year in the league in NCAA. I bet he does the same next year. The only guy I take over him in my fantasy pool next year is Kane.

Johnny now has a career PPG of .901

(RNH is 2nd in the draft class at .717)

Oh, and Hamilton leads Dmen from that year at .456

Hate to say it, but I'd probably take McDavid over him too. But I think he'll win an Art Ross or two in his career. Johnny is probably the most entertaining player outside of Kane to watch. He brings joy to an otherwise gloomy season.

I wonder what odds I'd get in Vegas on Johnny for 100pts next season?

Johnny is my favorite player. But Johnny is what McDavid would be of he was slower and smaller. McDavid is getting more points per game as a 18/19 year old than Johnny is now. There's no comparison here and it's not sacrilegious to think so

Gaudreau and McDavid are shaping up to be the future Crosby/Ovechkin. Not in that they're the same players cause they're totally different, but in that they dominate and will be jockeying for tops in the league stats charts as young players.

No comparison?

Come on.

Johnny is 6th overall in league scoring.

McDavid is a great player and special talent. But until he's scoring at that clip over a whole season, it's outright ridiculous to suggest there's "No comparison".

It's not a slight to McDavid to give Gaudreau all the credit he deserves for being a very special talent and having reached superstar status in just his second pro season.

If anything, it seems you've bought into the mass media and hype campaign handing the keys to McDavid as the face of the NHL having bumped Crosby off the world's best player mantle - before he's played a full season.

There's no need for you to be telling Flames fans to take the homer glasses off because they're talking about Johnny potentially winning Art Ross Trophies. In his second pro season, he's five spots away, and that's currently a lot closer than McDavid at such a small sample size.

And say what? Haha, remember when you were wrong about a prediction about an unproven undersized NHL prospect... yeah, well I do. Who cares what a former local media guy thinks.

You could argue that eventually McDavid will be better than Gaudreau due to McDavid's age but as of right now Gaudreau is the better player and it's not even close.
