Yeah, because you're talking about a paltry 5 megabit stream or less. Get back to me when you're running an native 1080p rip at 54 megabits

ARISE THREAD!

I need someone to run some cat6 cable for me. I'm installing 4 security cameras, and I also want to wire some cat6 to a few different rooms in my house. Lastly, I want to move a co-ax outlet to another wall.

Does anyone have a hookup/referral for this? I've emailed a few people off kijiji, but they only seem interested in doing renovations/new builds (which I presume are much easier)

I have been doing this type of work for 17+ years (along with Home Theatre, automation etc) and consider myself a retrofit specialist. Just a forewarning, depending on circumstances, it can be very challenging to do and takes skill. This is probably why the guys on Kijiji are not interested.

If you are looking for Kijiji pricing, I am probably not your guy. Retrofits are done on a time and material basis only. PM me, if you would like my contact info.

1080p back in 2011. How quaint.

one thing you may want to consider doing is to use some central vac tubing as conduit.

then if something changes in the future, easy to run the new thing thru the conduit. although I'd suspect the new thing will not involve wires - but what do I know

Ha. I forgot about that. I redid all of the rooms of my house myself with Cat6. It was challenging, but I did feel like I got to really understand what is going on behind the walls of a house.
