As a kid, I was too embarassed to say I watched this show ... I mean come on, it was on CBC .... the only things worth watching on CBC were HNIC and Sesame Street (although, I will admit, I did watch The Beachcombers on a regular basis .... Relic was cranky like my old man).
no love for Seeing Things?

CBC also had the Simpsons - making the station somewhat more tolerable.

This story gets more depressing as the details slowly filter in:
"Former child star Neil Hope, who played Derek (Wheels) Wheeler on the long-running youth series "Degrassi," died alone in a Hamilton rooming house in 2007, said former fiancee Christina Boulard on Thursday, as details of the troubled actor's final years emerged.
Boulard said family members had spent years trying to track down Hope's whereabouts after hearing rumours of his passing several years ago, but only learned the truth last month from Hamilton police. She said he died on Nov. 25, 2007 of "natural causes" but refused to explain further, only saying Hope was diabetic.
Boulard expressed frustration over the bizarre case, saying: "We are mourning right along with you guys."
"I have a lot of anger inside me because of the way this was handled by the Hamilton police," said Boulard, who lives in the southern Ontario city.
Many of you have commented that I have been quiet on facebook lately. I think it's partially because I was dreading the slew of questions and comments once Neil's passing hit the widespread media. Out of respect for Neil's family and friends and the Degrassi family he left behind, I respectfully decline to comment on the circumstances surrounding Neil's passing. I share in your shock and sadness and will always cherish the memories I have of Neil and I growing up during (and after) the show.
'Dinkle. Dinkle. Dinkle. Ooooh stewardess!' - inside joke between Neil

This news today really bummed me out. Caitlin Ryan was my crush, but Wheels was my favourite character, the guy I always hoped would turn it around, but never did. Reading that Neil Hope's life was siimilar, and how sad things ended...just a real bummer.

I don't know if the show was Canadian or not, but does anyone remember Empty Nest? God I seriously watched every episode of that show and hated every second of it.
The episode where Arthur had the wet dream was funny.
The cameo of Sue Johanson and her "Sex with Sue" show on the ghettoblaster was a riot. Even more so was the fact Arthur and Yick were high-fiving after they found it was normal to have wet dreams.
One character I didn't care much for was Kathleen, but the actress was great. The episode with her abusive boyfriend was one that stands out to me.

Lol. Where the hell did this come from? Empty Nest is a Golden Girls spin off.
One of the least showed episodes was when Snake found out his Athletic Star older brother was Gay. For some reason that episode wasnt aired in regular rotation during the re-run years.
