Blue Jays need to bottom out to force Rogers to make the changes that should've happened after the way last season ended.
They're getting the exact results they deserve.

If the star players can’t hit, the team is going nowhere.

Arguably the most anticipated home game of the year given the offseason, and the irony is overflowing.
The person who is there to make it so important cranks a HR 2 batters in.
Then the manager, in the last most important game last year, who pulled a pitcher who was cruising, leaves a struggling pitcher in for 3 or 4 extra runs.
Jays have 2 hits, one of them from a player not on the roster last year.
The Toronto non SNet press will have a field day writing up this one.

Ha ha ha. Just terrible.
How was management allowed to put this team out there? Unless they knew what they have in Bo and Vladdy and are acting accordingly? Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Schneider.

Bo is 2 for 31 in the last 8 games, since the start of the SD series. Brutal.

Again, I have no doubt Bo will play to his norm, so there is little issue with him playing not so well in any given small stretch. Vlad isn't living to his 2021 expectations but he's serviceable. The rest of the terrible roster is a product of terrible scouting and Atkins' decisions to go the potential route, while focusing on defence. I don't know if there is a straggler still out there who believes in the flawed philosophy of defence at the expense of offence, but that's the root of the problem here. That's on upper management (specifically Atkins). The roster is built on that flaw. If I'm ownership, I'm putting Atkins on a very tight leash. Batting coach as well. All else I don't think are the causes, because the roster itself is a mess. But some big shakeups needs to happen and I don't think in baseball it's a classic shakeup but rather a big deal to rebuild. I truly think Vlad at least has to be explored, followed by one of the higher end pitchers, like Gausman. Could probably get back 4 solid prospects if done right. I'm not sure I have confidence in Atkins to be the guy to make it though.

Glad I missed that one other than the Othani home run going viral and the Jays getting flamed on r/baseball.
Comparing the teams how many Jays would crack the Dodgers starting lineup? I’m thinking just Springer and Varsho.

I'm willing to trust Shapiro longer. He's been occupied with the business of the renovations and getting more of a gate presence into the future. That's his job. But now that that's done he has to focus on the team itself and I think that starts with Atkins being handed his papers.

Depends how precisely you define positions. Bo doesn't beat Mookie Betts for SS, but Betts also plays 2B. If the Dodgers acquired Bo, Lux would be a bench player and one of Mookie/Bo would play 2B.
Other than that I agree only Springer/Varsho would play for position players, although plenty of Jays pitchers would make a hypothetical combined team.
