Really? Getzlaf might be the only player on that team I actually like.

Oh this is for all the years of pain and despair he put us through over the past 15 years as a Duck.

I predict Lucic scores a hat trick sometime this year. Maybe it's tonight.

These aren't your typical past 15 years' Flames.

I can't think of another player who seemed to be able to completely change the course of a game the way Getzlaf often seemed to do against us. It seemed like every time we were oh so close to ending that Honda Center curse, Getzlaf would change the tide of the game.

I was optimistic Anaheim would let him go as a FA this year, and he'd sign with us, being it's the closest to his hometown team. The way he's playing this year, it would've been great!

Me, looking at the schedule:

"Oh good, EDM's playing tonight to eat up one of those games in hand they have on us... no, wait, never mind... there's us playing too - in the second game of a back-to-back on the road against another top division rival. Oh and EDM's game is against Seattle. Good stuff."

All goals scored five hole.

I saw the Getzlaf injury. His leg bent in a way it is not intended. Looked awful. Not Joe Theismann awful, but gross and cringe worthy. He has got to be out for a long while

I know the curse ended, but this building is still the worst. So much bad juju from over the years. Hopefully the Flames can take control of this game early so we don't have to endure finger guns guy.

Couldn’t catch the complete game last night. Looking forward to another good road outing for the boys.

I never want to get too ahead of myself, but seeing Vegas and Colorado lurking in the wildcard spots could be hilariously awesome if Edmonton takes the Division or complete BS if Calgary takes the division.

I can't imagine Colorado doesn't catch up eventually, but their Goaltending is shaky as hell right now.

Vegas with their injuries and also shaky goaltending could very well lurk in a wildcard spot for the entire season. Thats a tough out for a Division winner.

Again, you can't get too ahead of yourself but its hard not to start to look at what the path to the cup would look like. The East is chock full of really good teams, and with the statistical likelihood of 3 in a row for Tampa, that conference title is really up for grabs for a number of really good teams.

The west seems wide open with Vegas taking a step back. Is Dallas still a top team? Does St Louis have enough for another run?

My last unrelated game day musing is that, If Toffoli actually hits the block I can't think of a better deadline pickup. If the Flames are still looking like a true contender at the 50, 60 game mark, I think you overpay for Toffoli. He is everything you are looking for for this team. Knows Sutter, RW, Scoring, Monahan history. Everything.

What would it take? Pitlick (for cap) 1st and a 3rd?

Not on topic, but I just bought some Eau Claire distillery special edition Calgary Flames whiskey...anyone know how it is?
Got a bottle for drinking and one for collecting dust until Lord Stanley comes to visit.

Seattle has beaten some really good teams lately. They could bring it.

23 games into the season and this team has 4 regulation losses on the back of a brutal schedule to open the year. Incredible.

I doubt it... Seattle's a team that thrives on rush scoring against good teams. They're bad against bad teams because they don't really have the goaltending to deal with breakdowns.

They'll dominate the Oilers, and much like the Penguins a couple nights ago, get pounced on by quick strike rush chances.

Seattle is paper to Edmonton's safety scissors
