Default Bill Peters Fired Again

Using google translation

Quote:
Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist announced the termination of cooperation with head coach Bill Peters , according to the club's official website.

“The coach, who has been leading the team for one and a half years, is leaving Avtomobilist. We thank Bill for his work in our club and wish you a successful continuation of your professional career! " - the statement says.

Peters has led the team since the 2020/2021 season. Together with the club, he reached the first round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs, where he lost to the future winner - Avangard (1-4).

When Treliving made this garbage hire back in 2018 I asked him at a STH event why he would hire this guy who has no success as a NHL coach and why he didn’t hire one of the better available coaches like Darryl Sutter.

Obviously he took a little exception to the comment and how he did not use “google” to pick his coaches. It is funny to see how it all ended up shaking out.

I hated the Bill Peter’s hire and I was turning my thoughts around on that after the team had 107pts but his lack of getting them ready for the playoffs and then the poor start next season reiterated that this was a garbage hire.

Did you call him Bradley while you did this?

Not at all. I was a Treliving supporter up until this offseason and even then his current moves have the team in first place.

The one gripe I always had with Treliving was his coaching hires so when he replaced Gulutzan with Peters who had done nothing but have the Canes miss the playoffs all 4 years he was there I was not excited. I thought it was another bad coaching hire and it certainly proved to be the case as we all know how it shook out.

Personally I would have preferred Treliving be correct than spinning our tires for 3 years with a couple of first round exits and a playoff miss. Glad he ended up with Sutter at the end of the day but it should of happened in 2018 not 2021.

Read on r/hockey that Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist fans consider him one of the worst coaches they have ever had but no specifics on why.

He was tired of that Cossack music. “Why is everything C this and C that?”

Well, let’s think about that we know. Avtomobilist would know he was in the news due to racist acts and abuse of players. Maybe he just failed to live up to the expectations the team had of him

I am a bit surprised, that Treliving could not come up with anything more substantial to explain his decision. Specially since he's trying to sell himself as a hardworking GM.
