It's about all the little things he's completely flipped around from the ward era. Puck possession. Dube at center. Kylington in the top 4.
All this was absent under Ward and people wanted to blow up this core.

This is ridiculous. We are 10% of the way through the season and you are anointing Sutter the coach of the year award? This is a conversation for March/April and non other.
As a Flames fan, you should be routinely aware of the ups and downs of a season. A very similar group started 5-1 last year under Ward and we all know how that ended up.

It's great to be entertained by our team with the effort and pace of play once again, but fans really need to slow down if they are ready to proclaim this team and core fixed at this point. Goals are not going to keep flying from Lindholm and Mangiapane (who have been shooting 35% thus far and account for half of the teams goals) and Markstrom certainly is not going to notch 15 shut outs either.
Frankly, the early results are nice but I don't really care about it unless this level of effort and play continues each and every night for the next several weeks. You can't just whitewash the majority of the last 6 seasons where this team falls flat after just 8 games.

For some reason I recall a brief hot start before the rug was pulled out.....shows how memorable the team really was. Either way they started reasonably well enough before completely falling off.
The season is way too young for anyone to be making coach of the year award claims. This groups main problem is consistency and 8 games doesn't in the least qualify as a sample size worthy of wiping that slate clean.

You may be remembering the winning streak when he took over after Peters was fired.

Yeah, I'll go with that. It's all coming together nicely as Monday morning rolls on.

LOL, less than 10 games in and we have this? How about waiting to the end of the season? Guess I just got in before the lock

IMO Darryl Sutter is good for a couple seasons every few seasons. The Flames should have that as his contract...

Isn't the Jack Adams trophy a curse or something or is that superstition outdated

Can we close this thread until a full season's results are in?
This is just chanting Shut Out 3 minutes into the game.

Although I generally agree with this, part of the Flames' problem last year (and in general in the past decade) has been getting off to slow starts to the season and not having enough time to catch up at the end. The last time the Flames actually had more that five wins in the first ten games was in 2010-2011, and in most of those seasons they had a losing record in the first ten games.

It's like the sword in the stone. If you look on the bottom of the trophy, you will see the following words:
WHOSO CAN TOUCH THIS TROPHY WITHOUT GETTING FIRED, IS RIGHTWISE KING OF ALL HOCKEY.

Oh yeah, seems like all who's received the Jack Adams trophy will likely get fired afterwards. So, if Sutter gets this award 10 games into the season, will he be fired midway through the season, especially if the Flames do getting into a slump?
