Pimking got people here to donate to a gofundme campaign but was simultaneously buying steroids with the money. Since we were friends having sat next to each other for a whole season at QC Flames games years before that, I texted his ex-fiance and got her to join the board and give us her side of the story. He reaches out to me once in a while but I haven't talked to him since. That thread was beautiful. There were a couple of posters that did the initial digging. It was impressive.

That’s a doozy wow. Not taking anything away from the facepalm moments in this thread but that’s just despicable.

Yeah Ian Demler was a real winner. Swindled the forum out of thousands I’d imagine, and IIRC he also scammed a few other forums at the same time. Quite the scumbag. Definitely the biggest scumbag to be outed on this website that’s for sure.

To even be mentioned and compared to in the same thread must be quite the...uh...honour.

So my thought is that Iggy_Oi and Knightslayet never had a bet but let’s say they did for an instant.

Did knight slayer actually deliver the video he promised?

He claimed he had a video of a Canadian Army Training base for terrorism. As was discovered this was a British base so did he meat his claim?

It was a pretty lean claim to begin with. Either could take their beef up with a judge, but I imagine that most judges would chuck it. I think he's been roasted enough in public opinion on this one.

That’s why I think it’s only fair for Knightslayer to pay someone $5000 for lying and that person can then give $250 to charity. Everybody wins. I volunteer.

Might I suggest he give it all to charity:

seems appropriate

Now I haven’t really followed this thread that closely but I saw this this morning.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmon...nity-1.6280374

Quote:
As Mahmoud Mourra was out hunting on the prairie in southern Alberta, he came across a familiar sight in an unfamiliar location: the dome of a mosque, replete with minaret and crescent symbol.

Only the mosque was not real. It was part of a training facility at CFB Suffield, about 250 kilometres southeast of Calgary.

Ok, so to circle back - the issue is that labelling entire groups based on a very small amount of radicals that don't represent the much larger and greater group is really bad.

Agreed.

I guess this was a lie too, considering he had no problem sharing it with the national news.

Since the CBC jumped on the same crazy train as the OP, is it cool to ridicule them now too?

Didn’t CBC get that wrong, it’s not actually CFB Suffield? It’s BATUS Suffield.

Not sure what you mean. I do wish they were more like the BBC and less like a students union radio station.
