Did Buck forget that it’s a seven inning game? Seems surprised that the closer us up for the Red Sox.

Looks like I was going off pre-season rankings, whereas mid season rankings have Duran and Smith in the Yankees top 10.

Yankees traded a whole bunch of their minor league low minors depth. A lot of top prospects are close to rule 5 and are hard to keep on to without adding to 40. This makes trading for prospects with upside in the low minors very valuable since you can stash them and give them time to grow. This btw is how the Padres got Tatis as a throw in in the Shields trade.

I don't think they'll do it, but I find myself hoping more and more that the Jays sell.
Sure looks like a sellers market, and you could probably snag a few more top 100 prospects for Ray and Semien. Jays already have 7 of them roughly. Let's get it to double digits.
Plus then you could get a good look at Kevin Smith in the infield and Thomas Hatch in the rotation for the rest of the season.

On paper it is 100% the correct move. However, the players are real people who want to win. Throwing in the towel when 4 games over .500 and a young energized team is suicide. You may influence those players desire to be with this organization for years to come.
Look at how Seattle players reacted this week after trading 2 bullpen arms. "Betrayed" was the word they used and they have a -60 run differential!

Good pickup for the Jays. Adams isn't more than a AAAA player.

Hopefully Hand ca rebound with a change of scenery. Bullpen arms are so fickle, but he is better than the majority of the guys the Jays can throw out there. They are so deep at catcher that losing Adams does not hurt in the slightest.

Hand hasn't been anything to write home about this year and is a pure rental.
Not a huge fan of this trade really. This isn't the way I'd like to see the catcher log jam get freed up.

I don't disagree with you. At this point, I think it's better to have a measured buy or a measured sell than a complete fire sale or a shopping spree. This is a good way to show the team that you believe in them without mortgaging the future.

Sounds like Schwarber could get traded, Jays, Yankees and Red Sox in the mix.
Also rumors that the Twins might actually trade Berrios. That'd be a solid add.

That ball was banished from that dump Fenway.
It's in a better place now.

Lol
Feast or famine with this offense.
Feels good to kick the #### out of the Red Sox like this after so many close losses this season.
