Hopefully this news motivates more supporters to come out and support Cavalry FC, because Edmonton have a 7 year head start on us and they will make sure to rub it in our faces every chance they get.

This should be a good rivalry... I'm hoping the Okanagan gets a team as well (they all hate Albertans anyways) and then we can have a three way bloody, bitter rivalry for decades, fighting for the affection of the Rocky Mountains.

Lol, like half the town are ex-Albertans or kids of Albertans, not sure I agree with everybody hating albertans. Though I guess there's not a lot of love for the extra traffic and the license plates in the summer.
But yeah it would be great for the OK to get a team, someone on the V's board says it is in the league's longer term plan but likely not happening at rollout.
In an interview with 680 CJOB in Winnipeg, Paul Beirne mentioned that the average ticket price will be $25. They will have tickets in the $15-40 range. Of course, this is just a radio interview and not confirmation of such, but if the league president is saying this publicly that's promising.
I asked Cavalry last week if they have any info on season tickets and they did not at the time. Until the list of teams for 2019 is finalized I think we will be waiting.

FC Edmonton has asked for primary tenant status and naming rights at Clarke Stadium, but the Edmonton Eskimos opposed their request, saying they need access to the field for practices
I don't know a whole lot about it, but I do recall hearing that FC Edmonton didn't get a lot of love from the City of Edmonton and the Eskimos in the past as well.
It will be interesting to hear what sort of solution they are able to come up with - we'll probably hear a little more tomorrow during the official announcement.
Winnipeg's club has been announced. As expected, it is Valour FC. Here's the logo. A little busy for my liking, and it kind of looks like a beer label, but it's not bad.
Whats with all of the over-the-top names? I almost have to give Edmonton credit for just being 'Edmonton FC.'
And I hate giving Edmonton credit. For anything.
I have a lot of fundamental issues with the league but I wholeheartedly prefer teams doing something original with their branding instead of just copy-pasting foreign naming conventions for meaningless euro-cred.

For me, it's better to come up with an identity organically than have a marketer come up with the identity for you. And whomever pushed Cavalry FC clearly did not listen to the supporter feedback that we gave them, as opposed to places like Halifax and Winnipeg where this is what the supporters wanted.
Don't get me wrong, I'm over it, and I have accepted the name, but it just reeks of someone from Toronto saying "Hey, Calgary likes horses let's do that".
