Christmas eve this year will be quiet for me. My girl is leaving town, but because of my work schedule (new Job) I'm not going with her. My Mom and Dad and Sister are having a Christmas Day meal.

I'm thinking a nice Netflix night with a bottle of Jack and a bag of ice might be the way to go, so that when Santa slides down the chimney I'll either tell him that he's my best friend in the whole world or punch him out and take his stuff.

Fantastic! Its freezing outside and Coal will keep us warm!

As an added benefit, the more Coal we burn the sooner we solve our issues with Vancouver and Victoria.

I think it’s a volume problem. A sock full of coal might weigh a kilogram. A kg of coal has about 29MJ of energy. To heat your house you use about 10 GJ per month so that coal at best is about 2 hrs of heat

Ever since my aunt and uncle left town years ago, my family got into the habit of going to see a genre film on Christmas Eve. Started with Lord of the Rings, moved onto the Harry Potter series, Star Wars is always a good one. This year will either be Crimes of Grindlewald or Into the Spiderverse I imagine.

Nice little tradition, gets the family together.

Not looking to pity party your post, but if you need a few bucks to help make Christmas special for your wife and kid I'd be more than happy to help out.

No questions, no "i owe you one", just pay it forward with good deeds to those less fortunate.

Let me know.

Back on topic, I got my kids a Switch for Christmas hoping they enjoy the PG nature of the games. My sons turning 7 and asking for Fortnite, Call of Duty and I’m about to get him into that type of gaming at that age.

Also bought the Mrs.Gundo a MacBook Air for Christmas.

This could go in the I don't want to live on this planet thread. But I'll put it here cause it's going to be an awesome present supplement....

You can get just about any not so famous but more than willing celebrity to record a personalized message for anyone you want. I may be late to this party but i don't care. i can get Stormy Daniels for $666 bucks but Michael Avenatti is only $350. The average "star" is $40. I can't stop shopping. Waka Flocka is temporarily unavailable but Soulja Boy is down for $100.

I've successfully turned Christmas into Columbus day - no presents, no special meal - just a day off of work to do whatever you want.
