edit: I have realised I don't like the Centennials because they remind me of the Crowchild (I think) jerseys from my youth which featured a 'C' logo on a Blackhawks jersey. My Blackfoot teams always had an intense rivalry with them.
Crowchild was also the Blackhawks logo, at least in the late 80s when I played.

Calgary North Central was an association, that may be the logo you recall, as I thought they were red jerseys as well.

Yeah, pretty sure Crowchild was always the Blackhawks logo.

There were right up to the end. They've merged with Westwood MHA (a few years ago now) and are part of the Northwest Warriors. Their logo is still the Blackhawks logo.

Pretty sure they are changing it to be more PC...

Picked up a Centennials hat tonight, noticed the leaf in the middle of the logo is based on the 1967 centennial logo.

I'm old enough to remember attending Cowboys & Wranglers games, but don't think my Dad ever took me to Centennials games. In pictures I've seen, they wore the Blackhawks template for uniforms - were they ever affiliated with Chicago's farm system like some junior teams were back in the day?

No, the NHL sponsorship of junior teams ended in 1966 prior to expansion the following year (some players who had existing contracts were still playing junior up to 1970, but no new contracts could be signed). The Centennials (as you might guess from the name) started play in 1966-67.

I remember snagging a puck that flew over the net and glass during a Centennials game against the Medicine Hat Tigers. This elderly woman that was sitting beside wasn't paying attention so I put my hands out to catch the puck before it hit her in the face. She looked up to see everyone around us high fiving me for the catch and wondering what the fuss was all about.

Still have the puck packed away in a box.

Picked up some T-shirt’s over Christmas. Cowboys for moi, Wranglers for daughter and Centennials for son.
Son(15) is nuts over the Centennials logo and would love an actual sweater when(if) they come out.

Just grabbed 4 tickets off ticketmaster to one of these games. They look to be selling fast.
Anyone that has never seen a game in the Corral.....it’s a real treat!

Those look beautiful although the WHL logo on the Cowboys sweater...

A Lanny Centennials sweater would be an option.
