Trestman or Popp won't be back with the Argos in 2019.
There has been major friction with MLSE and Argos top football brass. Depending on how the off-season shakes down, both *could* be gone. Per Arash Madani.

No surprise. Not sure if the GM and coach are on the same page as Popp brought in Franklin to be Ray's replacement and Trestman prefers Bethel-Thompson who is clearly not starting QB material but more of a fit for his dink and dunk offense as Franklin is more of a stretch the field type of QB.

Of course they are going to play him and I can't blame them as long as there's no league conduct policy regarding drinking and driving infractions.

What does a league code of conduct matter? These clowns actually wrote their own organizational code of conduct a few years ago that they like to ignore.

It matters because that's the only standard they are required to follow. If you haven't noticed with the Carter getting busted for weed, players punching out other players at practices, etc, the Riders haven't followed their organizational conduct policy for a while now. Professional sports is business and winning is the goal and I don't see them benching Hughes when they are trying to lock down a home playoff game which equals $$$ revenue.

Riders do an about face and bench Hughes for the game. I assume the league said you do it or we will do it for you.

riderfans.com is pure garbage right now. From the applicable thread from poster NatesPost:

No kidding. This holier than thou bullshot in Saskatchewan has to stop. It's a zero 8 charge. Big deal. He'll volunteer his time to speaking engagements about this topic. It's a learning experience and a teaching moment. Now, let's win some games!

Almost half the posts are either from DUI apologists or folks so blinded by their love of the Riders that they feel football trumps everything else.

I knew rider fans from that site are scummy, but this surely takes the cake.
Too bad the king of all idiots from that board, NatesPost is coming to Calgary

He didn't pass out while driving. He's been charged and the law will handle it. No reason his teammates and Rider fans should be punished. This isn't a league issue like Messam apparently was. I am done with this team after this season. Sadly, I have already paid for my ticket to the Calgary game and there is one regular season game left. Judge, jury, and executioner should be the Riders new motto.

This is the same organization that had a sexual predator (allegedly) as a GM.

There was speculation from Naylor that along with local media, there was also pressure from the league after Chris Jones told the media that Hughes was playing.
The League could’ve stepped in if Jones was still stubborn in having Hughes play. No doubt DUI news like this affects the league too

While there are some Rider fans agreeing with scratching Hughes from Saturday’s game, I just find it more disturbing going through that thread at riderfans and seeing half the people there thinking it’s no big deal and he should still play.
What’s even more disturbing is that there’s a slight majority of Rider fans in this poll who still think Hughes should play:

Maybe the league should also fine defensive co-ordinators in addition to players for headshots? Getting tired of Noel Thorpe and his band of headhunters on the REDBLACKS defense.
