Exclamation [Video] Monahan 17/18 Highlights

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htLX_oOChYY

Great season derailed by 4 significant injuries which all required surgeries (amidst Eric Francis questioning his heart and character...)

In 74 games: 31 goals* + 33 assists = 64 points.
*plus 3 goals called back

Favourite plays: Both goals in NJ were gorgeous and his celebrations were so dorky, but his OT winner at home vs Chicago after being thwarted by Glass all game was so satisfying and deserving.

Videos Completed This Summer:

I set up a poll asking what video the majority of people would like to see next:

Thanks AC for the awesome content! Probably the only threads where I can thank a post before even reading or watching the video!

Love how we went years and years without a #1 centre. Monahan steps in and quietly gives us that consistently from day one basically. Awesome awesome player. Great video!

He makes that shot look so easy. Yet it’s a ridiculously difficult shot to pull off so accurately and quickly over and over again.

Love Mony. He's definitely in my top 3 favourite current Flame. He's such a smart player. Always knows where to be on the ice to get a good scoring chance - that he usually buries. Fantastic shot.

Also in case you missed it when I posted it in February, here are Monahan's 10 career OT goals:

Very surprising how few Gaudreau is in on actually!

Assists on those 10 goals:
Giordano (5)
Brodie (3)
Gaudreau (3)
Byron (2)
Frolik (1)
Hamilton (1)
Jooris (1)
Russell (1)
Smid (1)

Monahan, the most understated #1 C. Just goes about his business and cleans up the garbage. and he has a nice shot to boot.

Is Monahan the smartest player on the Flames roster?

I think it might be Tkachuk, but Monahan is certainly right there.

This is a great highlight package and makes me think that Monahan is underrated. It's too bad that he dealt with injuries because I think he would have hit 40 goals last season otherwise.

Hopefully he can be one of the leaders that takes them on a deep playoff run this year.

My favorite parts of the video are his 2 shootout goals where Kelly Hrudey and Cassie Campbell both react with a mixture of admiration and disgust at how easy he makes the goals look with his release.

Looks like Gio is up next. Beating Janko 30-18 in the poll.

The only thing keeping Mony from truly being an elite goal-scorer is his celly game.

Mr. Overtime!

Sooo simple, yet sooo good. People talk about how hard it is to score in the NHL, but he makes it look easy with that lethal release. Case in point: that second goal at NJ. Within the span of about 1.5 seconds, he hit the crossbar once and then off the post and in. Ho hum, another goal.

Great job again AC love your Flame videos, you don't just show the goals but also assists, hits, posts, defensive plays Love It! Thx again! Monahan is a beast! The fact he is coming into this season completely healthy is very exciting.
With the additions of Lindholm, Ryan, Hanifin, and now Neal this season can't start soon enough!

Any plans to do another hype video closer to the end of the summer showing off the new acquisitions? I loved that one from when Elliott etc. joined the team.

These videos always get through the hockeyless months.

Thanks as always AC!

Yeah, I'd like to. We'll see if I can squeeze it in.

The last one got pulled because of the music eventually.
