This IV package is going to be offered in three forms: Redemption, Salvation and In-Room Treatment. The latter will set you back $500 for the first person suffering from a hangover, while for his/her friends it will cost an additional $375 / “victim”.

Hangovers have been around for thousands of years, but scientists still haven't figured out the basic biology behind the affliction, says Joris Verster, an assistant professor of psychopharmacology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Verster is one of the world's most active researchers in the field of hangovers.
According to Verster, nobody really knows why people who feel great while actually drinking alcohol fall into such a sorry state long after the alcohol has left their system. Dehydration may play a small role, he adds, but the process seems to involve a complicated mix of inflammatory compounds released by the immune system.
More to the point, he says, of all of the products marketed for hangover relief, "no hangover cure is proven to be effective."

Oh, it works. I've known doctors and nurses over the years that did it all the time. I've also had friends do it after a hungover snowboarding crash that resulted in hospitalization that required IV's and oxygen.
I'm going to vegas next week, and I'm definitely trying it. I can guarantee I'll have a level 10 hangover at some point.

I think time is the only thing that really helps a hangover. When all these other remedies are properly tested, I reckon they won't work better than a placebo.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangover
Within the limited amount of serious study on the subject, there is debate about whether a hangover might be prevented or at least mitigated; additionally, there is a vast body of folk medicine and simple quackery. There is currently no empirically proven mechanism for prevention except reducing the amount of ethanol consumed, or for making oneself sober other than waiting for the body to metabolize ingested alcohol, which occurs via oxidation through the liver before alcohol leaves the body. A four-page literature review in the British Medical Journal concludes: "No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to avoid drinking."[20]

16 dudes heading for a bachelor party and staying in the hotel for a couple events so might have some sway. I can't imagine right next to the dance floor is the best kind of table with that many guys. We want to be right in it, but slightly set off with room for ourselves and hanger-on ladies. Also not the most expensive table either as its probably unnecessary. Would like to think the party will come to us a bit. Or at least we'll probably thnk it is regardless.

If anything this will end up costing you more. It's the girls that give you some sway.
What you should do Is talk to a door man or someone outside and ask them how much a a few tables with bottle service will cost, I gaurantee they ask you how many girls are in your party. Say an even number because they want at least a girl to guy ratio of 1/1 and get on the list. When you show up grab a bunch of girls waiting in line (i'm sure there will be enough) and take them in with you. We have done this a few times in Vegas and saved a ton of money compared to what they would have charged if it was just a bunch of dudes trying to get in.

My Easter weekend Las Vegas Trip Review:
Hotel: The Aria
- Very new and modern, the bedside tablet to control your room is really neat. Becareful not to accidentally turn off all the lights in the bathroom when someone is in there as you're playing with the lighting controls.
- Interesting concept. The shower and bathrub are both inside the stall. Technically, someone can take a bath and a shower at the same time. Normally speaking, the tub is outside the shower stall.
The restaurant, Julian Serrano is the Spanish Tapas restaurant at the Aria. Very good, great for sharing. However, service wasn't that great as the waiter ignored most of us and instead preferred to speak with the Spanish speaking person of our group
- Casino is nice, but I can never get any service. No drinks for me
- The $20 did not work, the hotel was booked full for the long weekend. However, the woman did return my $20 bill
- Handy free train service between the Aria-Cystal shopping mall-Monte Carlo-and the Bellagio
- The Jean-Philippe Pātisserie is a chocolate and pastry shop (also located at the Bellagio) located at the casino level of the Aria. Very good, especially the amazingly good cookies and cream gellato
Grand Canyon:
- We went on a fantasic all day van tour of the grand canyon. The link escapes me at the moment, but it was 11 of us including a guide. It was an early pick up, but we stopped at the Hoover Dam for pictures, pit stop at historic Route 66, and got to the canyon in time for a picnic lunch. A 3 mile hike along all the view points on the Southern rim happened after lunch. Got back to Vegas at 9pm
Buffets:
- Bellagio gourment buffet - Have to say was the most disappointing. After doing my reasearch, it was one of the top rated. We were there for their Friday night gourmet (and Easter) buffet by 5pm, so we didn't have much of a wait. However, it just wasn't worth the $50 (among the most expensive on the strip). I think someone on CP mentioned this already, but the snow and king crab legs were really icy and half frozen. I shouldn't have to use my warm butter bowl to defrost the crab legs. The special Kobe beef roast was over done as well. Overall though, there just wasn't anything that really stood out. I was waiting to be "wowed" but I wasn't
- Cosmopolitian Wicked Spoon buffet - unexpected delight. It was $40 per person, but I loved the selection there. They didn't have the shrimp or crab legs that buffets in Vegas usually have, but they had unique items like crispy barramundi filets. The service was excellent as well. I think this was a case of havign no expectations coming in and being surprised, compared to overhyping a buffet in my head, and being disappointed like in the case of the Bellagio
Other random thoughts:
- The Coke store was neat and I tried the 16 flavour sampler of coke products from around the world
- The Eiffel tower restaurant is a place I highly recommend. There is a bit of a snobby athmosphere there, but if you're okay with it, the food is excellent. We got a window side table over looking the Bellagio fountains. Very romantic. Order the Chocolate souffle with your meal (it takes an hour to prepare) and your wife/SO will start drooling when they pour the chocolate over it
- Cheapest transport from the airport to the hotel seems to be the hotel shuttles at $7 per person

Very ample timing here, I'm actually going to Vegas this weekend and staying the Aria. Airport shuttle it is.

Airport shuttle to Aria will probably only be cheaper if your group has 1-2 people. If you have 3-4 people a cab is likely cheaper and is way faster and more convienient.

Cab to there is about $20, probably $15 return. For the convenience I'd go that route over a shuttle that makes stops along the way. Your mileage may vary.

3-4 people I'll recommend taking a limo.. only slightly more than a cab, and no airport lineups or anything.

We've got 4 people, but going to two different hotels (Aria & Monte Carlo) so I dunno which would be cheapest/easiest.

I agree with the Cab to Aria,
The convienience alone is worth the extra $5ish dollars there, and it was actually the same price as the shuttle back.
I really enjoyed my stay at Aria, and would recommend it to anyone. If you are feeling like a casual lunch/dinner try the Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria in Crystals attached to Aria, it was a great meal.

Cab would probably be cheapest, just get them to drop off the first 2 at the closest casino then the next 2 at the next one.

Looked into limos. Most of them at the airport wanted to be hired by the hour, usually starting at $50 or more.
I guess if you negotiated with them for just a ride to the hotel, it's a cool way to travel. However, the first 2 limo guys I talked to out of the airport wasn't interested in driving me only to the hotel

It really does depend on where you stay, but I'd take a taxi to just about all the places. If you do take a taxi, tell them to avoid the tunnel (the highway). We got tunneled when we went to Mandalay Bay back in 2007. It cost just a hair under $20. On the way back it cost just under $10 without the tunnel. I didn't say anything because I was attending a conference for work and I was going to be re-imbursed but its still nice to try to save some money here and there for your company.
Took the shuttle to MGM in 2007 and then it cost $5/person. The taxi back to the airport was $8 and change.

I have said it a few times throughout the thread but I always take a cab and stop at a Vons on the way to your hotel. You can grab some snacks and booze at a fraction of the price on the strip.
I know there is booze to be had for free however sometimes, you just want to have a couple in your room before heading out and as for snacks...you will thank me the first morning you wake up.

If you do go to Von's, make sure you bring your Safeway Club Card from home because it will work down there (even just your phone number will work too).

Going in July, staying at the Excalibur (I know, I know) but were getting a great deal and I have heard from some friends that it is actually a good time. I'm wondering how hot Vegas really is in July, I know it is hot but is it really unbearable or will we be fine hanging by the pool all day? Also we are thinking of trying Emerils New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand for diner one night, any reviews?

We went in July it was about 100 every day, but it did not seem that hot to me. I assume this is because it is so dry there. Wear light loose fitting clothing.

Remember, a decent tip to the security dude covering your area and he will send some singles (non hooker) girls to your gus table.
