I feel like I've probably missed a good joke. But I'm guessing that in order to get the joke, I would need to listen to at least one country music song. Therefore, I've decided to remain ignorant.

Here it comes

Quote:
osted 4 hours ago Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected.

A pacific disturbance will move into Alberta tonight bringing heavy wet snow to south-central Alberta, including Calgary. Snow will begin Sunday night and continue through Monday. Snow will start to taper off Monday afternoon in the south and Monday night in central regions. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres, with locally higher amounts in the foothills, are expected to fall by Tuesday morning.

Over southern parts of Alberta there is a chance of freezing rain ahead of the system tonight into Monday morning.

Warnings may be extended to regions to the north and east as the system develops.

###

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ABstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ABStorm.

Corb Lund was originally a member of the Hard rock/punk band The Smalls. His music certainly has punk influences in it. Give it a try.

Yeah I'm hardly a country fan myself but Corb Lund is just fun to listen too. It gives off a vibe of having a good time not taking it the music too serious. Being a good ol' Alberta boy doesn't hurt either (although the Oiler fan part is unfortunate)

Yeah, Corb got all his "serious" stuff out of the way with the Smalls. I was so happy I got to see them back when they did another tour in 2012-13 I think? Don't think I've seen another band more than I have The Smalls.

Corb is like the Vinyl Cafe of Canadian music. More folksy than country.

On average, there are 16 cm of snow in November. It is winter. For anyone who asks how many months of winter we get in Calgary, it'd be erroneous to not include November.

Woof she's a messy one out there. Not much accumulation downtown, and as temp rises that will likely hold - but in higher elevations theres almost 4cm of accum already.

Snowfall warning remains

Pretty slushy. Hopefully this doesn’t have a chance to freeze.

The roads were fine in the NE. The driver who felt the need to stop for the green light "just in case" was not. Maybe if he/she cleared the snow off first, it would be easier to tell what colour the lights were?

We also average about 15cm of snow in April and April certainly isn't winter (outside of this year). I think we get 4 months of winter. December - March. Though you could easily exclude the last two weeks of march and add the last two of November if you are so inclined. But in normal years the start of November and the end of March are Fall and Spring.

I just know winter isn’t really over until the May long snow storm.

Drive was ok, clearing what felt like a few hundred pounds of snow off the car was a gear grinder.

the benefit was that the deerfoot northbound was pretty much empty this morning. I'm assuming that more then one person said screw Silver, I'm working from home.

I get to be a struggler today on the side streets since the winter tires came off at the end of March.

I think I’d rather have a good calgary snow dumping over the inch of ice that has encased my truck in southern Ontario.
