I designed pads for a goalie this year, and I keep reading comments criticizing the design for being too similar to another brand's concept. One of the concepts I submitted looked almost identical to Hiller's old pads too, but the client noticed that and stopped it. It's tough work to reference everything out there to ensure you're not stepping on any toes, but it happens all the time.

"Sooo yall just trying to copy ccms eflex 1 design eh? But with a moustache so no one notices? Ehhh i see you [Company]"

It's really easy to come to the same ideas when working with a team's brand. If you asked me to come up with something wild for the Original 6 , I'd have been surprised to see the Maple Leafs and the Rangers weren't on my artboard of sketches TBQH. One of the first things I thought of with this Rangers jersey was that it needed a blue shoulder yoke. It would make for a better looking jersey, and pair better with the logo it's replicating. That would pretty much make this jersey identical to the one the guy is upset about, and I've definitely never seen his concept.

There are definitely copies out there (like this guy: https://www.icethetics.co/concepts/2...tion?rq=flames), but it's also surprisingly easy to come to the same conclusions sometimes. Especially when it's from the exact same source material as 'what if the Rangers logo WAS the jersey'? Pretty ballsy of the guy to be vocalizing so confidently when the inspiration is something I'm sure any hockey fan who's interested in design has thought of.

Was looking at nhl auctions and noticed Adidas appears to be making a 1989 jersey like ccm/reebok used to... It's the old baggy style with the right neckline they wore in the 80s and early 90s but has Adidas tags if you look closely. Wonder if this will go on sale anywhere soon or if anyone has seen it anywhere, have never noticed it outside the auction:

I dislike but will accept this as a third jersey (even with the horse) if the club agrees that black will remain in two places moving forward:

a) the third jersey, thus liberating the home and away set to the original palette
b) the 1990's

The Flames went full retirement for Iginla's retirement and the playoffs, hoping they do the same for the draft.

So as far as I'm aware, this upcoming season we will have:

- Red retro home for all home games
- Last years whites for away games
- Retro white for Heritage Classic

Is that right?

I thought it was officially still:

Home - Regular Red
Road - Regular White
Third - Retro Red (but worn the majority of home games)
Heritage Classic - Retro White

And then they would officially transfer to the retro set as the main with a new third in 2020-21. Thought it had something do with only being allowed to change your main set once within a time period and they will change the main set all at once they can align both jerseys to retros.

This is what has been "confirmed" to be happening, although I don't think there's been anything officially announced.
