I think the only ones that come close are the St. Louis Blues retros but yea for sure we got the best!
Blue, gold and white look really sharp together.

Even the St. Louis retros look a little washed out in person, compared to how awesome they looked in the mock ups.

I wouldn't hate to see the Ol' Blasty jersey back for a game next year, kind of like what the Blues did for their late 90s retro jerseys.

With the success of Gritty, I think the Flames missed the boat here. Should've called Scorch up to the majors, not cut him!! I have never seen a Harvey the Hound meme.

He's out of jail now. I think the problem would be applying for a Work Visa here.

Why not both?
Blasty on one shoulder and Scorch on the other? That would be brilliant.

The retros are perfect as they are (without shoulder patches) and I'm excited for them to become the home/away set next year. They're gonna look great when they're the full-timers.
I'm all for blasty and the rest of the 2004 red jersey to come back as an alternate. I wouldn't say no to the return of the black jersey, either.

It would be such a Calgary Flames move to somehow bring back the snothorse without giving up those damn flags.

80’s red and white full time with the ‘04 jersey as the third would be perfect.
The Blasty jerseys would be cool if they were worn like once or twice a year.

My ideal lineup is
Home: Retro red (no changes to the current version)
Away: Retro white (no changes to heritage classic version other than the removal of the heritage classic patch)
Alternate: Horsehead (exact version of the old one)
However, for the alternate, I'd be open to just having them as shoulder patches and having the flaming c on either a red or black jersey

Re Blasty, I'm getting the idea, when he talked early about Adidas doing some new and different programs in the next couple years, that one of those said programs may include a special set for teams to use one season, for each team, for the 90s, and Flames would use Blasty or some variation for that special program, and just that program, as opposed to a full time return of the logo.
Also, the pic in the article of Popowich's concepts, the jersey 3rd from the back with the black arms and some sort of logo sublimated into the shoulder looks intriguing. And, does it have a red/retro collar, or is that the collar for the jersey ahead of it (which itself is some sort of Frankenstein, as it has the CF mountain patch on it on the current Adidas template, regardless of the collar)?
Be interested to see what all of those look like. From the pic the first four look like the current sets, as far as colors and patches (though the first one with retro colors only had a yellow piping on colllar, not white and yellow) so for them to be a concept kept out of sight, it must mean a different chest logo.
Also, finally, Infer the impression from all the comments that he has had over the past year, that a return to the retro isn't going to be the case, and that there will be a modernization of the retros for the new full time set.
Can they hold out on release on the next new set until the new building?

Based on the SN article, it sounds like the much maligned "Western" jersey was an amalgamation of various things that people liked.
Bring on the flaghorse!!!

I want a horse shooting flags out of his nose, mounted atop the pedestal.
And the jersey should be all black, with red and yellow piping going all the way up the design.
For shoulder patches, the “Calgary” script from those 2013-2016 alternate jerseys. Let’s just make it a cacophony of all this team’s worst design choices.

They need to get rid of the black....and Blasty was the jersey that brought in all the black.
So by default, not a fan of blasty. It also reminds of a miserable time for Flames hockey.

Certainly sounds like the plan is for retro home / retro away in the near future. It's as much of a slamdunk as possible.
Gives them the flexibility to have some fun with a new 3rd jersey eventually too. Whether that's a black jersey with Blasty, or something new.
The retro set needs to be fulltime though. Hell, we've only worn the true home jerseys a couple of times over the last few of months.
