Okay, goaltender done. Was hoping for a little less, but we'll see how it plays out. Now have to get Hall done. Get that, then we can move Gaudreau and hopefully fill a hole on defense and a young center, saving some cap space to sign Mangipane and a couple of defensemen. I think Ryan has to go too, but we're getting there.
I really don't think the plan is to move Gaudreau after the Buddy signing.
I think the plan is to acquire another big FA and go all in for the next two years.

So, Lundqvist goes to Washington,
Holtby goes from Washington to Vancouver,
Markström goes from Vancouver to Calgary,
Talbot goes from Calgary to Minnesota and
Dubmyk goes from Minnesota to San Jose.
Sort of funny.
Rittich to NYR to complete the circuit

"Perfect" maybe not. But anything less and you don't get the deal done. I think it's worth it to get 3-4 years of good goaltending for this core before it's too late
It’s not like there were a ton of top tier options. There was a marketplace and Treliving paid the market price.
I just don't really care about one shortened season.
It's simply not enough to work off of in terms of a long term contract.
I think and hope that Markstrom may very well have another great season.
But age and term are what I hate. It'll probably be good for two years, and then turn into an albatross.
And if so, I'll enjoy the two years. Because I am Goddamn sick of crappy goaltending

Best goalie in the NHL last season...take your numbers, turn them sideways, and stick them up your candy ass. Markstrom was playing behind a rebuilding team
It's a overpayment and risky but going into next season with another average goalie tandem would be a disaster. It will be nice to have a #1 goalie again. Hopefully Parsons or Wolf can step up in 3 or 4 years if Markstrom falters.
From what perspective? I don’t think he’s a bad player at all. Likely to bounce back a bit. Good leader from the accounts. Only thing I can think of is the positive return he could get now rather than later.
