I fail at life. I can't achieve this form of copying and pasting. It's not allowing it.

Wow. Can't get enuff of looking at these pictures. This city has changed so much in such a relatively short period. Looking at some of them....just seems like it was a whole different world not too long ago.
I'll give this before and after thing a try.

From streetview - looks like this past summer.

Too bad the CPR depot is gone. That would have made a kick ass downtown train/High Speed rail terminal.

This is cool. I imagine a city like Prince Albert, Saskatchewan wouldn't have changed much at all from the 50's until now.

I think you're right about some parts of P.A., but I was born/grew up there and it sure is different almost 30 years later.
Back on topic, I'm moving up to Stinktown for a year tomorrow and I'm loving all these Calgary pictures. Did anyone else ever take a course from the great Dr. Max Foran at the U of C. That man really opened my eyes to my heritage (prairies Canadian) and the development of western Canada. Very strange that a native Australian had that effect on me haha.

Man, you can tell some of those houses are original and were built in the dirt road, horseless carriage days

I was thinking the same thing, but then I thought that just because McLeod is where it is now, doesn't mean that's exactly where it was 50 years ago.

If you're referring to the ones in Midnapore, yes, they were on the west side. But if you look at the old, and the new pictures that are posted, you see that the road once in midnapore, curves to the east a bit, giving the idea that the elevator is on the east side.

Too bad we don't have street view from 50 years ago. Ah never mind I waste enough time on CPF as it is.
