Love how Smith also gives him a shove at the end there.

The stach is back, or, almost back.

Hanifin is a little inconsistent at times, but he's definitely a top-4 guy right now. So impressive for his age. I wouldn't worry about him at all.

He might now be going for a 1989 grizzled Lanny look.

Tkachuck has been invisible lately, actually hurting the team with his turnovers. Put Bennet on the 2nd line and Matty on the 3rd for a game or two.

How did people think he looked yesterday?
I thought he was a little better than he has been for a few games, but still not close to the level he was playing at in November and December.

This level of raw talent is extremely rare. I'm not saying "at all costs" but with this level of talent I sure hope the Flames are working very hard at helping him tame whatever demons (ego, locker room fit, character) that they may see as "not Flame material" and keep this guy. Finishing school, 12 steps whatever it takes. There has to be a way to keep him.

Sorry. Don't know if you're saying you disagree or that you don't understand what I'm saying. I'll go with the latter.
Kylington is "really talented". Beyond... way beyond... adequate for the NHL.
So I'm assuming this "raw talent" is being offset by some other criteria (such as team fit, personality, whatever). Otherwise he would be getting more opportunity.
I of course have no idea about specfics and other than what I've heard via hearsay and observed directly (e.g. Smith and he seem at odds... two big egos colliding perhaps).
I'd just hate to see Kylington playing somewhere else 5 years from now. I'm predicting (based solely on his talent... and absent injury and personal issues) that he is going to be that good.

He's still a young guy and the organization has been taking it's time with him, so they're easing him into NHL hockey.
The flames have given him plenty of opportunity, but there are 4 top 4 players ahead of him.
I haven't heard of any off-ice problems with him, but this is how terrible rumors start.

He is 21-year-old rookie defenseman and he is playing for the #2 team in the entire League. Your expectations are too high.

This is hearsay and anecdotal. It’s worthless. George Johnson wrote a feature on Kylington a couple weeks ago, and it paints a picture of a very well grounded young man and an organisation which values him immensely.

If you have not already read it, you should. There is nothing else to see here.

I think you’re substantially overstating Kylington’s talent (even though it is good he isn’t Nik Lidstrom or anything) and therefore interpreting his usage as some other issue at play when in fact, he kinda isn’t really as good as you think he is- especially defensively where he makes the odd mistake.
