Hasn't he been in the minors, anyway? ... the Canucks have many injuries right now, and he's still not with the team, I'm assuming this means he's been not very good in the AHL, though I haven't checked any stats.

Canucks are dealing with injuries, at the moment... and need scoring,overall... I'd say that's a worthwhile risk for them, as Gagner wasn't going to see the lineup again, anyway.
