Saravelli's article is exclusively about goaltenders. There have been rumblings on TSN about the Flames making inquiries about Stone, but I haven't seen anything published beyond these vague speculations.

Makes some sense to me.
Flames might have addressed goaltending as the biggest need, and have a plan to address that. They likely have a certain set of assets they are willing to part with.
The caveat to that might be Stone. If they can get Stone, it will likely cost all the assets they have allocatted for Howard, and then some.
Might be waiting to pull the trigger on a goalie deal until the Stone situation is resolved.
They likely don't have the ammo to get both done. Or at least aren't willing to part with that much.

I am just going by what I heard on TSN when Dreger talked about it. By the sounds of it they definitely can’t afford both. So a contingency plan is the only way ,they want one of them though thats for sure. As a reminder to u all this is a rumoured topic so take it like a grain of salt. This might not happen at all.
