Maybe Kingsbury or Kripps/Kopacz. Obviously Boutin and Bloemen are well deserving of it as well.
But then again you could argue that no pair of athletes in Canadian history have done as much for Canada on the world stage at those two have.

You can't go wrong by choosing any of the others you listed, but you can't go wrong with Virtue/Moir either. Choosing the flag bearer doesn't have to be a spread-the-wealth-around kind of thing.

I wouldn't be unhappy with Virtue/Moir, but if I was choosing, I would go with someone else, since they already carried it for the opening. It's not that I think we need to spread it around in an "everybody gets a ribbon" type way, but I am old enough to remember the days when the one of two athletes who won a medal and was still in town automatically carried it. I think choosing someone else celebrates the fact that Canada now has several athletes winning medals.

I don't know all the stories well enough to say for sure, but if McMorris wins a second medal, I would probably be pulling for him.

Charles Hamelin.

Final olympics. Now has 5 olympics medals, tied for most by a Canadian man. He didn't win gold but it is the end of one of the most dominant Canadian olympic careers. Also an amazing team supporter by all accounts that has helped build the Canadian short track program.

Personally I've been rooting for Sam Edney - this is a transitional Games in many ways.
A time to say good bye to several athletes as they end their careers and hopefully a new dawn of the importance of clean sport.

Edney embodies both.

Duff Gibson echos the same thing and suggests the entire Luge relay team but if only one can be chosen he would go with Alex Gough.

As someone who has followed both of their careers for 10+ years I'd be happy with either.

Kelsey Serwa + Britt Phelan.

That would be fun to watch.
