Gudbranson with a "Bertuzzi-like" premeditated assault on Cousins.

For context, Cousins had a borderline dirty hit on Gudbranson earlier into the boards. Not quite in the numbers, but close to it, and it drove Gudbranson into the boards hard. Cousins was called for boarding, but there was a lengthy scrum that followed.

Next time they are both on the ice, Gudbranson gets near Cousins as part of the play and he stops playing the puck entirely and just grabs him by the head and threw him to the ice, then started pounding on him while down.

I sense a lengthy suspension for Gudbranson in the future. A massive overreaction to a borderline hit. Absolute psycho moment for him.

Cousins should have been ejected for his hit. Period. Cousins should be suspended for that hit. That hit was ridiculously dangerous.

The ref’s incompetence led to all of that.

The whole reason that play happens is because of the hit that could easily have broken Gud’s neck. Cousins doesn’t answer for it.

Yes, borderline dirty. He tried to get ahead of Gudbranson to check him off the puck at the shoulders. He misjudged and hit him near the numbers. Gudbranson didn't expect anything and so he didn't protect himself.

It's not clean, but I didn't sense any malicious intent there. Just tried to get an advantage and poorly executed his check. It deserved a penalty. They initially called it a major and then reviewed it to reduce it to a minor. Clearly it wasn't that bad if they reversed that decision.

Again, not clean, but not malicious either. Gudbranson just lost his mind.

It’s about as dirty a boarding can be. He drives into that hit.

He should have been hit with 5 and a game, and I think he should be suspended for it.
