The Heaven Can Wait animal shelter needs your help
They are a rescue operation here in High River and need your vote. A good organization that does it's best to find forever homes.

Kim Hessel says they're the lone Canadian group in the running for a big pay day from Pella Windows.
"We've made a short list of 26 charities and not for profits to be potential recipients of a $50,000 grant toward renovations, toward operating costs towards whatever you need," she says.
Hessel says they don't usually take part in these voting contests but says this one is worth the time and effort.
"As I look around our various buildings and all the things that do need repair Pella has been an amazing support to us already, this is just something we can't pass up."
She says supporters can vote once a day by going to their Facebook page and they're not opposed to getting family, friends and neighbours from across Canada involved.

We've been working in our community and surrounding area for 21 years now, focused on reaching animals in distress, retraining and then re-homing. We concentrate on cats and dogs, offering low cost spay neuter programs, responsible re-homing, and promoting volunteerism. We work with Bylaw, RCMP, Calgary Humane Society, ASPCA and a number of other rescues to take on more-difficult-to-adopt animals who need time and retraining. Our facility is set on an acreage just outside of High River, Alberta, with good space for our animals, and access to our brilliant veterinary community, too. Our buildings are aging, so we would use these funds to effect repairs, make the buildings for energy efficient, repairs walls, doors, windows. We want to make the space safer, most cost efficient and comfortable for both the animals and the humans

Heaven Can Wait Receiving $50,000 Thanks to Votes from Foothills Residents
Quote:
Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue Foundation is receiving a large chunk of money after winning the Pella 'Hope at Work' Award.
The organization was one of 26 nominated for the award, and was the only Canadian organization among them.
They managed to amass over 35,000 votes thanks to dedicated residents, many of whom voted daily.
They'll be receiving $50,000 for the win.

Quote:
Though it's been a tough year for countless people and organizations, Hessel says there's been no shortage of support for Heaven Can Wait.
"Look at Ralph and all of his effort with Ralph's Ride, the ongoing story with Pella and all the people that supported that, all the renovations that have been going on. 2020 has been such a strange year, yet we've been very fortunate. I don't want to jinx it!"
Hessel extended thanks to the community as well as to John and Adrienne Wienand, the Pella franchise owners in Western Canada who nominated Heaven Can Wait.
"I don't know how we got so lucky to have this couple and the couple and the company they own come into our world. They're legitimately lovely people who want to help animals, especially John, John's a cat guy."
