I do the latter. I’ve never had an issue with MexEx honouring a price match, and having them test the mobo, cpu and ram saves the hassle of putting a system together and then finding out something DOA.

Yeah I've always got the motherboard and CPU at MemEx. I'll have them pricematch everything else too unless there's something I really want but they don't carry.

Impressive video card. At $1000, that is more than lots spend on an entire system.

Well I figured since my last buy was the 970 and I felt a bit like I should have gone for the 980, this time around I really want the 1080ti.

The 1080ti card is amazing for the price. I hoping to buy a couple dozen more to replace all of my current GPUs. A couple 1080ti's can easily go head to head with the Nvidia P6000 that costs 5 or 6 times as much. It's a great card.

The i7-8700K is two more cores, if I were buying right now I'd wait until I could get one of those.

I recently built a gaming pc and got my parts from mem express. Few tips:

PRICE MATCH, PRICE MATCH, PRICE MATCH! Do your homework. Mem express will price match almost anything except the 1080 cards (bastards!)

They will price match off Amazon Prime and pretty much any website offering delivery to Canada. I think I saved over $400 doing this.

1080 is the way to go, love the cards, rips through all the new games like Destiny etc.

Have fun!

I price matched my 1080ti back in June. Saved over $30 because of it.
