This thread has been quiet for awhile.... Mcgregor and Cowboy tomorrow - can’t wait! Both entertaining fighters.

Conor looks and sounds like he’s in a much better headspace this time.

I think he’ll get the finish in 2/3 rounds, it’s hard to imagine Cowboy winning this but anything can happen in MMA.

Wish the rest of the card was better.

Should be a good fight. I'd want to see Cowboy win, but I think that's unlikely.

It’s all marketing. You expect anyone to believe that he’s changed that dramatically in a short period of time? What consequences has he faces for any of his actions outside UFC? The guy hasn’t reached his rock bottom enough to be a changed man. It’s just a different take on his act.

Anyway, enough of that but I’ll guess that Cowboy will win tonight. Coming off two years off in a pro sport is difficult. Not impossible but it’s hard.

I want to see some face punching.

There has been a lack of that tonight.

That auld fella he sucker punched in the pub in Dublin takes a better punch than Cerrone.

I suppose everyone is happy. McG gets his comeback win, Cowboy gets a payday and Dana's prized commodity remains intact.

I’m not a huge Mcgregor fan, but he looked more explosive and good tonight

The shoulder strikes were awesome

Cowboy looked like he’d been in a 5 round war after the quick tko. Undone by Conor’s shoulder of all things. That was wild.

Looked to me like the knee/thigh caught Cerrone in the side of the head right off the bat and he never regained his bearings. McGregor looked good and took advantaged. Might have broken his nose on the shoulder strikes.

Conor looked good.

What's 2020 look like for the welterweight divison?

They have Kahbib/Tony already lined up in April. Guessing we will see Conor/Jorge in May-ish? Then winners in October?

Dana seems deadset on doing Khabib/Conor and Usman/Masvidal next. Problem with that is you run a real risk of both Conor and Masvidal losing and seeing both their stocks drop. Even Conor said after the fight that Khabib isn't necessarily next - it's probably best to let him get at least another win or two before doing that.

Setting up Conor/Masvidal for the July International Fight Week makes sense to me, do it while both guys are white hot. The fight and the buildup would be insane. Would also like to see Gaethje/Conor if he goes back down to 155. If he beats one or both of those guys, then give him Khabib/Tony at the end of the year.

I'm not sure about putting Conor against the elite at 170, he's still a tiny welterweight and seeing him get laid on by Usman or Covington would suck if his power doesn't translate against them.

One of the videos I seen with Dana, he said that the reason why Conor fought Cowboy at 170 was because Conor believes that the Kahbib/Tony fight won't happen and one of them will pull out (6th time). That Conor didn't want to put his body through two quick weight cuts and is saving his cut as a replacement for the Kahbib/Tony title fight

I personally think that the only way Conor fights Masvidal is if Masvidal takes Usman's title first.

McGregor definitely spent some money on a new image coach. Second child helps, as does watching his oldest grow up. Obviously the new image is worked on in unison with the UFC, who works with him too to get a perfect opponent, a well respected guy that everyone loves and that McGregor respects legit. Makes it easier for Connor not to get into some theatrical spat with the guy that escalated as has happened in the past and allows him to continue the calm image.

Cowboy gets his big paycheck as his golden parachute and McGregor gets his mojo back, gets positive momentum in his fight booking and having him bandwagon fill up, which is good for his brand and the UFC for the rest of 2020. He is now also ready to step in if Tony or Khabib pull out.

This next period will be the true rest to see in McGregor has dialed it back from his drinking and fighting Russians etc as he did before the Khabib fight, and dialed back just in general with his attitude and temper.

That's because, whoever he fights next won't be the gracious Cowboy,it's going to be someone that's going to try and drag him and his family and his past transgressions into the mud in the lead up and get him worked up, distracted, whatever...already started, as Usman went on a Twitter rant, Diaz also on twitter, and Mazvidal who wore the same Robe Connor wore during his boxing week, to the match last night.

Disclosed purse is $200k (would have been $400k if he won). $3 million for Conor.

I'm guessing PPV points + sponsorships would probably push Cowboy's total earnings to at least 1-2 million, but his agents should have gotten a higher base amount.

Conor claimed he would be making $80 million for this fight.
