The new Ninja Turtles movie is awesome. Took my 6 year old to it today, he had a blast.

Good mix of nostalgia and new age made it enjoyable for both of us.

Animation style was pretty neat as well.

Ok wow, GOTG 3 was great. That has to be the best one in the series.

Lots of emotion. I liked how they kept things pretty open ended but also with a satisfying conclusion for the whole crew.

James Gunn really is a genius, DC is in great hands.

I'm pretty sure that Secret Invasion was written by an AI.

The opening credits were a pretty big tell. All of the character notes and dialogue were really bland, it looks like a human did a once over to make sure that the sentences were coherent. The plot points were all really simplistic. No character development for anybody. The finale was laughable, and the surviving characters all ended up in the same place as the past few MCU projects. All in all, it felt like an algorithm.

On the heels comes the strikes, that Disney knew were coming. Just trash.

Olivia Coleman is great in everything, and Emilia Clarke wasted yet again. So many characters need to be nerfed at this point.

While I agree, the only question is what Gunn has in creative freedom with cornerstone properties like Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, etc. He has nailed the smaller, obscure characters/teams like GotG, Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker.

I think he'll do them justice, but even with Gunn DC has lost the benefit of the doubt with me.

Also loved GOTG 3. Nice way for Marvel to end off that series.

If you've recently lost a pet, you may have a tough time. At least I did.

Also might be too emotionally heavy for young kids. Might want to wait until they are a bit older before letting them watch.

I agree! I took my two boys, 7 and 5, to watch this. I grew up loving the TMNT, and this new movie hit all the nostalgia feels, with a modern twist to the story and character development. I really like how they emphasized that the heroes in a half shell are TEENAGERS in this century. Lots of pop culture references, glued to their cell phones (NYC must have amazing cell coverage in the sewers).

The voice acting cast was great as well. Jackie Chan as Master Splinter was the highlight for me, personally.

Doesn't mean much. Marvel's VFX studio is rather small and dozen's of companies are used per film. Not saying this is a bad thing but it has to be all or it just won't work. Disney will just farm the work our to cheaper companies and disband their own team. Happened before and will happen again. The issue is companies in post and VFX bending over backwards for the studios.

The film industry is ####ed and should not be compared to normal life.

It doesn't mean much, but change has to start somewhere. It may not amount to anything. It may amount to a tiny improvement.

GotG3 just came out on Disney+. I'm about 2/3 in. It's really good so far. Just so much better than the MCUs latest offerings. Feels a lot more organic. Not trying to force characters or Kang on the audience.

Finally got to see Across the Spiderverse.

Wow. What a beautifully animated film. The animators really deserve an award for this. The mixing of different art styles to match the different versions of Spider People are amazing. This might be the best animated adaptation of a comic book ever.

That first scene with the Davincian Vulture is so incredible.

I just don't see how you unionize tens of thousands of workers across 100's of companies all over the world. Seeing it now with the WGA and SAG/AFTRA. Their reach is very limited and studios are shooting in Europe or Australia etc to get around both the writers and actors.

And I have said this before. This not a Marvel issue it is a film industry issue. But I do agree you have to start somewhere just not sure this will get much traction.

86 on Metacritic (the second highest rating of any wide release), 95% fresh on RT, $380M at the box office... I think it was rated pretty accurately and got the appropriate audience response, lol.

Spider-Gwen's theme music is also really great and really comes out during that.

Blue Beetle is getting pretty good reviews right now, currently 82% which puts it 4th spot in the DCEU. Behind Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad and Shazam.
