I just looked at the OHL standings out of curiosity and Peterborough was only 34-29-2-2 ??

Lol wow

0.544 points percentage

The Hurricanes were 0.574 point percentage this season. I can't even imagine them being here right now

They are an opportunistic team tonight.
Beck just lasered one on a sweet rush.
2-1 Petes

Went on a run. Beat 3 division Champs. Like Florida.

Blazers came to play in this must-win game!
Early one to get on the right side of the score to start.

Wooooo! 2-0

It's really a shame the hitmen couldn't host the memorial cup during their heyday. They were never allowed because of the slim chance that the Flames make the Stanley cup finals.

I get it, but it sucks.

It's actually the first game I haven't been at. Had a conflict with a social event and am now watching the TSN coverage, which is top flight.
I'll be at all the rest.
I am feeling more invested than I thought I would be in the Blazers; I've cheered for them for years, but during the Western final and the even more now, I'm Flames-level of excitement/angst.
The game against Seattle on Wednesday is going to be huge.

oddly enough, i got to thinking the other day, why hasnt the hitmen ever been a host team. i didnt realize that was the reason, even if that happened, it could still work. unfortunate

What's funny is there was one year that they were close to taking the risk to host it but ultimately, the WHL said they couldn't risk it on the very small chance the Flames were in the Finals... That year was 2004.

The WHL will be back in the hosting rotation in 2026 and 2029. They could do it during the overlap between the Saddledome and the new building, but 2026 is likely too soon, and they won't likely want to keep the Saddledome around until 2029 just in case.

I don't think it matters now anyway. Calgary was unique in being a major city that loved junior hockey. The Hitmen led the league in attendance for years in their heyday.

Now a days the hitmen are not seen as anything in Calgary. The coolest season was the 2005 lock out year for the NHL when they averaged over 10000 a game.

Congrats on the OHL championship banner I guess, but a .544 team is getting just about exactly what you'd expect them to get in this tourney.

Masters is going to be ok, I hear, but out for the rest of the Tournament.
Big loss for Kamloops.

Here we are again, my dad and my nephew in attendance.
Remparts pressure game has Seattle scrambling giving up grade A chances.

3-1 Final for Quebec.
Remparts were too much for the Birds tonight, stifling them at every turn.
Another great atmosphere. There were healthy contingents of fans from both sides as well as so many jerseys of all sorts. Walking the concourse was a treat.
Local highlight was the hearty "Lets go Blazers" chant midway through third.

Looking forward to tomorrow night taking my daughters to the game.

Pretty sure that a Remparts win vs Peterborough cancels a tie-breaker game and sets up a Kamloops-Seattle semi-final, which would of course be a back-to-back game!
