Did not expect TNP.

RAA is rather appropriate for the stampede line up lol. Good to see them really embrace their name.

I wonder what they are going to do for liqour for that area. Bring back the bud big rig and the big rig girls! I mean the score is relevant again because of sports betting. ahh the good old days of working there...
Ha! What did you do @ the Rig, and when?

Roadhouse and Coke Stage combined is incredible. I also wonder if the Coke Stage will get bigger capacity over on the other side of the Stampede grounds?

Matt Mays
Steve Earle
T-Pain
Lupe Fiasco
Sublime
Bahamas
Milky Chance
RRA
July Talk
Alexisonfire
The Beaches
Cold War Kids
Tokyo Police Club
The New Pornographers
Kaskade
Alessia Cara

And that'scputting aside artists that may be big but not in my scope and therefore I didn't put them on the list. Just an insane amount of excellent bands over 10 days, wow.

How does the Roadhouse work again? Is that separate ticketing or with admission like the Coke Stage?

Also, it looks like our Saddledome line up that used to have 3-5 big concerts during Stampede is just Blake Shelton this year?

Stampede seems to be going all out on the musical acts this year. Not sure if the former village is the permanent spot for the Coke Stage, but it certainly solves the issue they had with families getting off the c-train and having to walk through a Sum 41 show to get to the rides.

Except that it’s now by the Erlton CTrain station gate

The year I decide to leave town for Stampede, is the year they decide to have a bunch of musical acts I would like to see. :-(

That Sum 41 show was insane and the catalyst for the Stampede stepping back and really paying attention to what kind of bands they bring on, not before fining the band tens of thousands for swearing up a storm.

Sum 41 was coming off their Chuck album and arguably too big for the Coke Stage. It showed in the crowd and they made a statement that they wouldn't book major punk/rock bands anymore.

I think it was Our Lady Peace around 2006 that played there and then said they've never play the Coke Stage again after that crowd was pretty crazy, too. Although once their star power faded they did eventually come back around 2014 or so, I think.

That was another raging show, with people climbing light poles, crowd surging and huge mosh pits, eventually prompting police to get Raine Maida to stop the show and make everyone move back.

I’m looking forward to Stampede this year after the last two years.

I’m wondering if there aren’t more permanent plans in the works for the Coke stage, like possibly having events there outside of Stampede. It would make a lot of sense with the Round Up expansion and the new arena coming hopefully soon.

We could really use a solid permanent large capacity outdoor amphitheater. One with half seating (partially removable for some standing area when needed) and half grass seating on a hill.

Oh, and let's have the skyline and mountains in the background.

I've said this before, once the new arena is open and the Saddledome is demolished, I think a perfect replacement for the space would be an amphitheatre with a nice bandshell and covered seating for a few thousand and a great lawn for additional seating.

It could be used for the Coke Stage shows during Stampede but also be available for concerts and other ticketed shows throughout the year (at least from May to October).

Hahaha, I remember going to that one. It was 2006. I wasn't even an OLP fan, but some friends were and they dragged me along.

I found out later my sister—a huge fan at that time—was also there, very very early in order to get a great spot in front of the stage, but she had to leave before the band took the stage because she was stung on her foot by a wasp. She was piiiiiiiiiiiissed that I saw the show and she didn't.

I was also there. I seem to recall that show being just crazy. The most people in that space I have seen.

Raine Maida climbed the speaker tower or something at some point?

Don’t forget, the best way to see all these concerts is to get the 10 day stampede pass. It’s a real game changer
