Sucks to lose Loturi (if it does go ahead), but super happy for him as a young player and this is what the CPL is exactly for - getting Canadians trained, developed, recognized, and then hopefully getting bigger opportunities locally and abroad.
Cavs have been very, very good at developing Canadian players over the last three years, pat on the back for them!
Another 3 points for Cavalry today. Great weather, lots of new faces in the supporters section, clean sheet. Crowd was okay (3045) but maybe that's just the baseline for the season now?
I was stuck at work, but my father-in-law and brother-in-law took my kid to the game. He absolutely loved it. After the game we played some soccer in our yard on my lunch and he pretended to be Cavalry. It was adorable. Probably a fan for life now

Saskatoon has unveiled their stadium plan. I like it, particularly the view of that random pond for some reason.
That wasn't a random pond, its a water feature twice the size of the the field that was meant to be a major part of the project. Really cool, love the whole thing.

I was surprised attendance wasn't higher. I thought the weekend afternoon games with decent weather would see things kick back up toward peak season 1 numbers. Great game, I hope more people can discover it.
Also, it might just be too damned expensive. I bought 5 extra tickets for 107 to bring family, and it was far from cheap.
Cavalry can go top of the table tonight with a win over Valour. Valour have been really dull this year, and needed a 94th minute equalizer against Edmonton last time out.
Looking like there is a clear top 4 (Cavalry, Forge, Pacific, Ottawa) and a clear bottom 4 (Halifax, Valour, York, Edmonton) this year. Despite all the long term injuries Cavalry look to be the best team in the league right now. Helps that the most of the players with long term injuries have been replaced.
Vliet has been a big upgrade on Field. Pepple has been a big upgrade on Novak. Roloff has been decent in his spell replacing Farago. There's lots of depth at CM to replace Di Chiara, with Trafford, Loturi, Simmons and Adekugbe all able to step in.
Only Aird hasn't been replaced really. Loturi was an absolute stud at RB last night though so maybe that's a fit for now?

I think Field, Novak and di Chiara are going to have to bring something special when they return, otherwise there's other guys passing them on the depth chart.
Regarding Pepple, his game has come a long way and is a big body with offensive flair. He's not the most graceful dribbler or has superior passing, but he is a playmaker and a finisher. He's pretty dangerous around the net and doesn't seem to mind forward attack 1-on-1.
One thing he has to work on is transitions. The guy needs to turn to pivot much quicker and switch to defensive play or join a back rush faster.
But it's like night and day to when he started with the team a few years ago.
I really like what I saw from Loturi at RB last night. He's smart on the ball and has great anticipation which allowed him to break up plays and make some really smart tackles. He's quick enough that I didn't see anyone on Valour running past him. Could be a good long term fit as long as he is willing and able. Allows Klomp to go back to playing more centrally and he can still cover there when needed.
Agreed. Loturi has become a solid, dependable body who can be a versatile player the length of the field. His stature also makes him look easily pushed off the ball, but it doesn't seem to be that way.
I hope he doesn't go to the Scottish Premiership, but if he does, he's earned it.
Mo Farsi signed a short term emergency loan with Columbus Crew's first team, and made his MLS debut tonight. Good for him. IMO that's why we'll see some CPL players move to the MLS reserve league. It's a more direct path to MLS.
