Village is my favourite ice cream place in this city. I love the Phil & Sebastian Coffee flavour.

Safeway's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream is currently my favourite store bought ice cream.

Village is great and they are super nice there. I wish Ben and Jerry's would open a storefront here though. I had the most perfect flavour in the states, and it makes me sad thinking I'll likely never have it again.

Just wanted to share a place I found this past week. Village Ice Cream has the best ice cream I have tried in Calgary. There is one location just north of the Saddledome along with a few others. It's made locally as well.

The maple pecan and the chocolate flavors are awesome.
Oh man had the rum raisin after the Flames game, it was delicious. Nice notes of rum and the sweetness of natures candy really tied it together. Delicious.

Yeah, my girlfriend and I hit up Village in Britannia last time we were in Calgary and it was phenomenal. She had the toasted coconut and I had the cardamom. Both were good but the coconut was out of this world.

Basically, every summer weekend I would get on my bike and cycle down to Village Ice Cream for a salted caramel ice cream sandwich, then bike back to Bowness.

I really like pairing sorbet with chocolate ice cream. I find the tangy-ness of sorbet goes fantastic with the sweetness of the chocolate.

I have a dinner party to go to and it was up to me to bring dessert. Do you know if Village Ice Cream have pre packaged ice cream tubs, like the 1L kind you get at the grocery store?

Yes, they do. I don't think you can get 1L though.

Thanks for the info. It didnt have to be 1L. I was just wondering if they had a "to-go" option that is a bit bigger. I'll probably end up taking the cardamom, salted caramel and the girl guide cookie flavours.

Thanks all.

Yeah, they sell pints and ice-cream sandwiches out of their freezer. I've done that when I've had to bring dessert before and it worked nicely.

My diabetic dad makes me take him to Village every time he visits Calgary just so he can have the cardamom ice-cream. Yes, the sugar isn't good for him, and no he doesn't care.

I liked the Saskatoon Berry ice cream at the Soda Shop in Black Diamond. I'm not sure who makes it.

Maybe MacKay's (yikes, look at the calories and fat):

Lol at the 100ml serving size.

Brian Regan:
"serving size for ice cream is a half a cup. Who the hell eats a half a cup of ice cream? 'Hey Brian, you want some lunch?' 'Oh no I just had a 1/2 cup of ice cream. I just kept eating and eating, I must have had two spoonfuls!"

"Serving size for Fig Newtons is 2 cookies. 2 cookies? I eat Fig Newtons by the sleeve."

D Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous is a beauty. A staple of every BC road trip I've ever been on. They have a Chocolate Tiger flavour that is amazing.

I'll have to hop in the car and give this Village place a try some weekend, though.

Can second this. They have a chocolate chili ice cream that's good, too.
