That was a really solid defensive play by Hughes to take Mcdavid out when he tries to cut in front with speed

Oilers broadcast is significantly worse than watching the Leafs game.

Oilers hockey this season: horrible defense and hope the 2 wonders up front can outscore your problems. Will be seeing a lot of that this season.

It's been an exciting period, which is another way of saying, "as expected, neither of these teams can defend".

Interestingly McDavid put a forearm right into Ekman Larsson's face on that last shift, uncalled. I can't wait to see what he whines about not being called after the game.

I still don't get why the D doesn't plant themselves and let Mcavi run into them during his net crashing. Just lay a shoulder, D. C'mon.

3-0 Colorado half way through the first period. Avalanche are running over Chicago. Fleury might regret not retiring.

It's Colorado though. They'll do that. If that happens against the Stars, we can talk.

At the end of that last shift, Foegele basically bodychecked Demko - not hard, but just hard enough to knock him over. Nothing play, really, and Demko got up fine.

Now imagine if that had been Mike Smith.

No, that was not close to the first goal of the game. That was an easy save.

I like Harnarayan, but c'mon.

Historic season for the Oilers last year? Really Singh? Cause all I seem to remember is them being unceremoniously swept out of the playoffs.

Is Assian playing? Or is the knot on his fat forehead still an issue.

Yes - it's the first time a a team has ever been swept in a building with no fans in it. There were no sweeps in the 2020 bubble. Historic!
