The Montreal Canadiens made a big trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins to sure up the blue line on Friday night.

After a week of back and forth the two teams finally came to an agreement on a deal to send Victor Hedman to the Montreal Canadiens.

The Habs sent back fan favourite and soon to be Team Canada World Junior Captain Kaiden Guhle and Ottawa’s 2023 1st round pick.

Hopefully this move doesn’t backfire and cause us to get worst in the sim because our team gets better on paper. But we are confident it will cause us to crash and burn.

Thanks to Cheese for the talks once again and hopefully the Pens keep rebuilding so we don’t have to worry about them.

There have been multiple teams after Hedman over the last few weeks, but price was always the issue for the leagues top dman. In the end Montreals offer won out with a top prospect and hopefully a decent pick in a great draft year.

So let me get this straight…Cheese won’t even consider Ekblad back for Hedman because he’s stuck on getting back a prospect and pick or a prospect and prospect which I don’t have. I’ve been offered more than what he got for Hedman for Ekblad in prospects but for some reason in 2021 we can’t connect the dots to make it happen???

I could have taken the deal I was offered for Ekblad, flipped to Cheese for Hedman to give him more than he got, and everyone is happy but Goffie got involved so I backed off. They made a deal, so I offer Goffie the same deal in prospects which is an upgrade and he ‘wants to see how Hedman plays for him’.

No, I had Ekblad and traded him away for prospects. Why would I deal Hedman in return for Ekblad? Doesnt make sense.
