It Is Time
I don't post much because of all the years I have been on here I have had to watch my team put in and out mediocre seasons year in year out. I knew when the team decided to build around a small winger no matter how talented he was would not work . Big changes need to be done yes a rebuild! Monohan and Gaudreau need to go It is time to start tearing it down and rebuild from the ground up, yes it will be a few painful years, but if they don't it's going to be many more years of watching average teams fighting to be a bubble team. The only core I would keep is Lindholm Hanifin and Mangiapane the rest can go imo

One game into the season and some fans are already in shambles. I swear sometimes this fanbase is softer than Johnny Gadreau in the corners.

I'm surprised nobody here on CP has thought of this before.

I thought the Flames looked good last night actually against the Oilers, looking forward to the next few games here. They could probably use another good forward right now but I wouldn't go full rebuild yet.

Calgary looked like they always do. A middling team that struggles to put it all together for a whole game. This is nothing new.

Oh, I love this game. I've got one!
5(?) Years into a rebuild and some fans still think this team is more than they are.
You have to admit, this team looks...ok? At the end of last year, most everyone was calling for changes because they weren't good enough or bad enough. After an extremely underwhelming offseason this team looks about the same. Fans have every right to be frustrated and to express that. If fans like us are "soft" it's because we want change a d are sick and tired of being average. Isn't that better than being a "tough" fan who's just used to losing and is ok with it?

It’s a 32 team salary cap league. There’s 22 average teams, 5 elite and 5 awful.
Even if we do not make the playoffs this year I don’t see management selling off our few good players after we just brought in Sutter and Markstrom. Hell just having those two on this team will keep us out of the bottom 5 to get even a sniff at a chance of a lottery pick.

Not sure if you saw Markstrom's stats...

It's not like you can blow it up now anyways.
Until the trade deadline this is the team. Then at the deadline and offseason you can move in another direction.

Tre is biding his time and holding on to assets until he can land Eichel. If he goes elsewhere, then I might be on the rebuild wagon. Either way, it’s too early to blow up the team when we have Sutter as our coach-anything is possible with him steering the ship. Let’s see how he does.

Like, every year ever? Because it is a fact that no team is going to pack it in and embark on a scorched-earth rebuild after Game #1.

That doesn't mean you can't make mid-season adjustments. But every year, it seems the Flames' front office is closed between October and February. The one major exception during Treliving's tenure has been the Sutter move, and I'm not even sure that was his idea.
